Chapter 529 Chen Haonan Uses a Borrowed Knife to Kill
Chapter 529 Chen Haonan Uses a Borrowed Knife to Kill
three days later.
At the entrance of Dongxingtang.
In the courtyard, several shirtless members of the Tung Sing gang were sparring with steel pipes, the clanging of metal grating on their ears. Scattered on the benches around the area were numerous bottles of liquor and cigarette butts. A dozen or so gang members sat or stood, their faces still bearing the lingering menace, their eyes warily scanning the area inside and outside the gang.
Since the news of Camel's attack in Windmill Country and Chiang Tin-sang's murder reached Hong Kong Island, Tung Sing has been on high alert.
"Bang!"
The heavy wooden door to the hall was pushed open from the outside, and a cold wind carrying street dust rushed in, instantly breaking the noise inside.
The sparring brothers suddenly stopped, turned their heads to look at the door, and unconsciously reached for the weapons at their waists.
Four people stood at the door. The man in the lead was wearing a black leather jacket. He was tall and had a somewhat arrogant look in his eyes. He was none other than Chan Ho-nam from Hung Hing.
He was followed by three henchmen: Da Tian Er, Bao Pi, and Jiao Pi.
Da Tian Er's expression was solemn, his hands clenched tightly, and he stood guard at Chen Haonan's side. Bao Pi and Jiao Pi looked somewhat nervous, occasionally glancing at the Tung Sing underlings around them.
"Chan Ho-nam!" A Tung Sing underling with a buzz cut was the first to react, stepping forward with a steel pipe in his hand, his tone fierce, "Damn it, are you guys looking for death? How dare you trespass on our Tung Sing headquarters!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the Tung Sing gang members surrounded him, steel pipes and machetes clashing together, forming a tight encirclement that trapped Chen Haonan and his three companions in the center.
The smell of gunpowder in the air instantly intensified, as if a conflict would erupt at any moment.
Jiao Pi and Bao Pi turned pale with fright and instinctively shrank behind Chen Haonan.
Da Tian Er stepped forward, blocking Chen Haonan's path, his eyes fierce as he glared at the approaching Tung Sing underlings, and said in a deep voice:
"We're here to talk business, not to fight!"
"Talk business?" The crew-cut thug sneered, raising a steel pipe to smash it down. "What's there to talk about with you Hung Hing bastards? You dare to send people to trespass on our territory? Today, we'll make sure you don't leave alive!"
"Stop!" Chan Ho-nam finally spoke, his voice not loud, but carrying an undeniable aura.
He raised his hand to stop Da Tian Er, slowly took a step forward, his gaze sweeping over the Dongxing underlings who had surrounded him, finally settling on the crew-cut underling, and said in a deep voice:
“I want to talk to Camel and ask him to come out and see me.”
"Looking for our boss?" The crew-cut henchman paused for a moment, then burst into laughter. "You? You think you're worthy to see our boss? Our boss is busy dealing with your Hung Hing, he doesn't have time to bother with a nobody like you!"
“I have important information about Handsome Hen,” Chan Ho-nam said, his tone unchanged but his eyes becoming increasingly sharp. “This information is crucial for your Tung Sing to deal with Handsome Hen. Are you sure you don’t want to inform him?”
Upon hearing this, the crew-cut young man's smile instantly froze.
He hesitated for a moment, stared at Chen Haonan for a few seconds, and seeing that the other man's expression was firm and he didn't seem to be lying, he gritted his teeth and said:
"You wait! If you dare to try anything funny, I'll skin you alive!"
After saying that, he turned around and walked quickly toward the inner room of the hall.
The encirclement temporarily dissipated, but the Tung Sing underlings still kept a watchful eye on Chan Ho-nam and his three companions, their weapons still in hand.
Bao Pi wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said in a low voice to Chen Haonan, "Brother Nan, it's too dangerous here. Should we leave first?"
"What are you afraid of?" Chan Ho-nam glanced at him coldly. "Now that we're here, there's no turning back. Handsome Xuan is all-powerful in Hung Hing, driving us to the brink of despair. Only by using Tung Sing can we get rid of him!"
His tone was full of resentment and bitterness.
Since Ye Haoxuan rose to prominence, his status in Hung Hing has plummeted. The power that originally belonged to him has been gradually stripped away, and his underlings have gradually defected to Ye Haoxuan.
He was unwilling to be subservient to others and hated Ye Haoxuan for taking everything from him. After much thought, he had no choice but to take a risk and seek cooperation with Dongxing.
Da Tian Er also said in a deep voice, "Brother Nan is right. Handsome Xuan is too arrogant. If we don't get rid of him, we will never have a chance to rise in Hung Hing. No matter how dangerous it is today, we must get this done!"
Not long after, the crew-cut henchman came out of the cubicle, his expression much more serious than before. He said to Chan Ho-nam:
"Come with me, Brother Yaoyang wants to see you."
“Yao Yang? Lei Yao Yang?” Chan Ho-nam frowned slightly. “I’m looking for Camel.”
"The boss is injured and recovering. Yao Yang is now in full charge of things at Tung Sing." The crew-cut henchman said curtly, "If you want to see the boss, you'll have to get past Yao Yang first!"
Chan Ho-nam understood; it seemed the camel's injuries in Windmill Country were quite severe.
He didn't say anything more, but gave Da Tian Er and the other two a wink, signaling them to calm down. Then he followed the crew-cut henchman toward the private room.
The interior of the cubicle was much more refined than the exterior, with a mahogany desk in the center, on which sat an ashtray and several bottles of foreign liquor.
Lei Yaoyang leaned back in his office chair, a cigar between his fingers, his eyes fixed on Chen Haonan as he walked in, the smoke billowing around him.
"Chan Ho-nam?" Lui Yiu-yeung exhaled a smoke ring, his tone tinged with mockery. "A rare guest indeed. What brings Hung Hing's rising star to my Tung Sing's territory? Are you here to deliver intelligence, or to surrender?"
Ignoring his sarcasm, Chan Ho-nam walked straight to the chair in front of his desk, sat down, and got straight to the point:
"I'm here to cooperate with you and get rid of Handsome Xuan."
"Oh? A collaboration?" Lei Yaoyang raised an eyebrow, sat up straight, and looked at Chen Haonan with interest. "You and Handsome Xuan are both from Hung Hing. What, are you having internal conflicts?"
In fact, the fact that Chan Ho-nam was expelled from Hung Hing was already common knowledge throughout the underground world of Hong Kong Island.
The people on Dongxing's side had already received the news.
However, Chan Ho-nam had dealt with Tung Sing before and was their enemy. They pretended not to know and just wanted to mock Chan Ho-nam.
“He, Handsome Heen, has been all-powerful in Hung Hing, eliminating dissidents and no longer taking us old brothers seriously.” Chan Ho-nam’s tone was icy, his eyes filled with resentment. “I’m here this time to cooperate with your Tung Sing to get rid of him. As long as you’re willing to take action, I can provide you with intelligence from within Hung Hing, including Handsome Heen’s whereabouts, the defenses of his branches, and the weaknesses of his men.”
Upon hearing this, a glint of light flashed in Lei Yaoyang's eyes.
He had long wanted to find an opportunity to deal with Ye Haoxuan, but Ye Haoxuan's power was now stable and he had many experts under his command. If they fought head-on, Dongxing would definitely have to pay a heavy price.
If Chan Ho-nam has important intelligence, dealing with Yip Ho-hin will be much easier.
But he didn't agree immediately. Instead, he leaned back in his chair, slowly puffing on his cigar, his tone playful:
"Why do you think I'll believe you? What if you're an undercover agent sent by Handsome Xuan to lure us in?"
