Chapter 30: Utter Shame
Chapter 30: Utter Shame
The overwhelming sense of shame in the afternoon made Liang Junjie wish he could just evaporate on the spot. But Yu Xueji was in high spirits, dragging him around the mall again and again, ostensibly to "help her junior sister choose everyday outfits," but actually enjoying his uncomfortable yet obliging expression.
Finally, evening arrived, and Liang Junjie thought he could go home and change back into his own clothes. He rushed into Yu Xueji's walk-in closet, only to find that his casual clothes had vanished.
"Xueji! Where are my clothes?!" He stared at the empty coat rack.
Yu Xueji leaned against the door, slowly tidying up the spoils of her afternoon "shopping spree," without even looking up: "Oh, that old outfit? I saw it was a bit worn, so I had Uncle Wei help me get rid of it. Anyway, you look quite good in it now~"
Liang Junjie: "!!!"
He looked down at the light blue dress that Yu Xueji had forced him to wear that afternoon, paired with a white knitted cardigan and small leather shoes. Although it was much more casual than a JK uniform, it was still women's clothing! And, underneath, he was still wearing that damned lace lingerie!
"I'm not going out!"
Liang Junjie, in a fit of desperation, plopped down on the soft stool in the dressing room. "I'll just stay here and wait for Uncle Wei to come back with new clothes for me!"
Yu Xueji put down the bag in her hand, took out her phone, unlocked it, opened a chat group interface, and slowly said with her finger hovering over the top of the screen, "Well... I guess I'll just have to post the photos I took this afternoon to our high school classmates' group? The title will be 'Shocking! Former classmate Liang Junjie has such a hobby,' what do you think? They'll definitely be very surprised."
Liang Junjie: "..."
He could almost see how those bastards in the group would frantically spam, save, and forward the post, and how this nightmare would be repeatedly brought up at class reunions for decades to come.
"...Go." He squeezed out the word through gritted teeth.
Yu Xueji triumphantly put away her phone, a bright smile on her face: "That's more like it, Junior Sister~ Let's go home!"
When the two returned to Liang Junjie's house, it was nearly dusk. Pushing open the door, they found Huo Chuyu sitting on the living room sofa watching TV, holding a bag of potato chips. The show was some melodramatic fantasy drama.
"Master, we're back," Yu Xueji greeted obediently.
Huo Chuyu turned her head at the sound, her gaze falling on Liang Junjie. She looked him up and down, and then stopped in her tracks as she was about to put the potato chips in her mouth.
She blinked, and a subtle, pleasant smile slowly curved her lips.
"Very cute." She nodded, her tone calm. "Not bad."
Liang Junjie's face flushed red, and he stammered, trying to explain, "Master, what I'm doing is..."
"Get ready."
Huo Chuyu interrupted him, turned off the TV, and stood up. "Come with me later to visit one of my good friends."
Liang Junjie breathed a sigh of relief, thinking he could finally be free: "Okay! I'll go change my clothes right now!"
"No need to change." Huo Chuyu's casual words froze him in place. "Just wear this."
"Huh?" Liang Junjie and Yu Xueji were both stunned.
Huo Chuyu picked up the coat draped over the sofa and put it on while explaining, "My friend here has the Daoist name 'Qingyi.' She's a rogue cultivator, and her cultivation level is slightly higher than mine. She has a rather peculiar personality; she's rather averse to men."
She looked at Liang Junjie with a teasing look in her eyes, "You're perfect for this. Otherwise, she might feel uncomfortable seeing you and won't even let you in the door."
Liang Junjie: "..."
Misogynistic? So I have to wear women's clothes? Master, what kind of friends do you have?!
"Xueji, come along too. Qingyi will probably like you."
Huo Chuyu added, "Just say... you're my new apprentice, and he's your senior sister."
Yu Xueji's eyes lit up, and she immediately nodded, "Yes, Master!"
Liang Junjie tried to argue, "Master, isn't this a bit inappropriate? What if we get caught..."
"As long as you stay calm, don't recklessly use your spiritual power, and don't give yourself away, she won't be able to tell with your meager cultivation and appearance."
Huo Chuyu said firmly, "Unless you're asking for trouble. I'm leaving."
After saying that, she grabbed Liang Junjie's arm with one hand and pulled Yu Xueji with the other, and then she flashed away.
After a slight dizziness subsided, the three of them were no longer in the familiar living room.
Before me lay a valley shrouded in mist, its ethereal beauty far surpassing that of the city. Nestled within the valley was an elegant bamboo cottage, with a babbling brook flowing in front of it, adorned with exotic flowers and rare herbs, creating a scene reminiscent of a fairyland.
Huo Chuyu straightened her clothes, stepped forward, and gently knocked on the gate of the bamboo house.
"Qingyi, it's me."
A moment later, the courtyard gate slid open silently. A woman dressed in a moon-white Taoist robe appeared at the door.
She appeared to be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, with an exceptionally beautiful face, yet her eyes and brows carried an aloof and indifferent air. Her spiritual energy was perfectly balanced and restrained, unfathomable.
Her gaze first fell on Huo Chuyu, and she nodded slightly: "Chuyu, a rare guest."
Then, her gaze swept over Yu Xueji, her eyes softening: "And who is this?"
"My newly accepted apprentice, Yu Xueji. Xueji, greets Fairy Qingyi," Huo Chuyu introduced.
Yu Xueji quickly and obediently bowed: "Xueji greets Senior Qingyi."
Fairy Qingyi nodded, as if to say hello. Finally, her gaze fell on Liang Junjie.
Liang Junjie's heart pounded. He tried his best to keep his expression calm, bowed slightly, and imitated Yu Xueji's less-than-perfect female greeting, saying in a soft voice, "Greetings, Senior Qingyi."
His palms were sweating with nervousness, afraid that someone would notice something amiss.
Fairy Qingyi's gaze lingered on him for two seconds. Liang Junjie could feel a faint yet extremely penetrating divine sense sweeping over him. He immediately did his best to suppress his spiritual power, even forcibly suppressing the automatic operation of the "Starfire Technique" to the minimum, maintaining only the most basic vital signs.
She seemed to find nothing amiss. The indifference in Fairy Qingyi's eyes faded slightly, replaced by a hint of... appreciation.
"Who is this young lady?" she asked Huo Chuyu.
Huo Chuyu remained expressionless: "She's also my apprentice, Liang... Liang Jing. She's introverted and doesn't talk much."
Fairy Qingyi hummed in agreement and stepped aside, saying, "Come in, all of you."
The bamboo hut was simply furnished, yet exuded elegance. Fairy Qingyi brewed some spiritual tea to entertain them.
Throughout the process, he was able to exchange a few simple words with Huo Chuyu and Yu Xueji, mostly about cultivation and flowers and plants, but he only occasionally glanced at Liang Jing. His gaze was neither warm nor disliked, more like that of a junior he found agreeable.
Liang Junjie felt extremely uncomfortable, keeping his head down and staring at his teacup the whole time, wishing he could bury his face in it.
Yu Xueji tried her best to play the role of a lively and cute junior sister, sweetly calling out "Sister Qingyi" from time to time, which softened the cold-faced fairy's eyebrows.
After several rounds of tea, Fairy Qingyi suddenly said, "It's rare for Chu Yu to bring his juniors here. I find these two children quite pleasing to the eye."
She paused, then flipped her hand, revealing two objects in her palm.
Those were two pairs of... stockings.
But these were no ordinary stockings. One pair was a light, icy blue, with subtle snowflake patterns; the other was a warm white, with a lustrous, jade-like sheen. Both radiated a pure, ethereal energy.
"These are little things, consider them a small gift." Fairy Qingyi handed the ice-blue pair to Yu Xueji and the warm-white pair to Liang Junjie.
"These are the 'Cloud-Thread Ice Silk Stockings' and the 'Warm Jade Smoke Stockings,' which are low-grade magic treasures that I crafted in my spare time. Once worn, they can regulate their temperature, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. They also cleanse and purify, and can slightly increase the speed of spiritual energy circulation in the legs, which is beneficial for movement techniques and lightness skills. They can be bound with a drop of blood and are impervious to ordinary water and fire."
Yu Xueji was both surprised and delighted, and quickly accepted the gift, saying, "Thank you, Sister Qingyi!"
Liang Junjie had no choice but to bite the bullet and accept the warm white stockings with the most graceful movements possible, saying softly, "Thank you, senior."
He felt the stockings in his hand were as light as a feather, with a delicate and cool touch. They were indeed a good product, but the way they were presented... was too shameful!
Fairy Qingyi looked at the two of them, and seemed even more satisfied with Liang Jing's shy and downcast appearance.
She rarely showed a smile: "No need for formalities. Your master has a free-spirited nature. If you have any questions about cultivation in the future, you can come and ask me."
Huo Chuyu smiled and said, "Then thank you very much, Qingyi, for your trouble."
The atmosphere seemed to soften and become more relaxed. Liang Junjie relaxed his guard a little, thinking that he was finally going to get through this.
Just then.
Perhaps it was the relaxation after the tension, or perhaps it was the special effect of some unknown incense in Fairy Qingyi's bamboo hut, or perhaps it was the warmth and spiritual energy of the "Warm Jade Smoke Stockings" in her hand, which entered her body through her palm and stimulated certain circulations...
Liang Junjie suddenly felt a heat in his lower abdomen, and an uncontrollable surge of blood rushed down.
His face turned deathly pale instantly.
Through the hem of her skirt, a certain part of her body involuntarily and clearly rose up...
The bamboo hut fell into a deathly silence.
Yu Xueji was holding the ice silk stockings with great affection, while Huo Chuyu's hand holding the teacup froze in mid-air.
Fairy Qingyi's gaze, like the sharpest icicle, suddenly pierced Liang Junjie, landing precisely on the awkward bulge beneath his skirt.
The faint smile on her face froze completely, then shattered, transforming into overwhelming coldness and... the fury of being deceived.
"You..." Fairy Qingyi's voice was so cold it could drop ice crystals. Her originally peaceful aura instantly became extremely sharp, the temperature inside the bamboo house plummeted, and even a thin layer of frost condensed on the surface of the spiritual tea in the cup.
Liang Junjie's mind went blank; all the blood in his body seemed to rush to his head, only to recede instantly. He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
It’s over.
It's all over.
