Chapter 106 Begins the Journey to the West

Chapter 106 Begins the Journey to the West

Xu Xian lived in the Women's Kingdom for ten years, where he had a passionate affair with the Scorpion Demon.

For ten years, Xu Xian helped the Scorpion Demon to create a golden body of merit, while also guiding her in cultivating the Poisonous Stance of the Horse-Slaying Pole.

Finally, the scorpion demon was brought to a point where it could barely withstand the power of the Pleiades Star Lord.

"What have you done all this for?"

The scorpion demon was very puzzled.

She had long seen that Xu Xian was a truly extraordinary and saintly person.

Even the legendary Monkey King, who wreaked havoc in the Heavenly Palace, seems to pale in comparison to Xu Xian before him.

But what exactly is he going to do?

Having cultivated to his level, what else is there to need?

Upon hearing the scorpion demon's words, Xu Xian smiled and patted her head.

This prompted the proud scorpion to almost extend its venomous stinger to sting him.

Xu Xian quickly withdrew his hand and placed it elsewhere, gently kneading and stroking it.

□ Zhong then said quite seriously, "Several hundred years from now, a person from the East who is on a pilgrimage will pass through the Women's Kingdom, and I need you to stop him."

Why?

Xu Xian said something cryptic: "Because this is a great act of merit and a great cause and effect."

The scorpion demon thought for a while but couldn't figure out the reason. She just looked at Xu Xian and said, "Although I don't know what you're doing, since it's your decision, I will definitely do it well."

"good!"

Xu Xian picked up the Scorpion Demon and stepped into the king's boudoir.

Half a month later, he set off again, heading west, and arrived at Huanghua Temple.

To Xu Xian's surprise, Huanghua Temple had undergone a complete transformation, much like the temple on Shuangcha Ridge.

At this moment, Huanghua Temple appears to be a sacred temple on Mount Ling, resplendent in gold and magnificent in its grandeur.

It seems that the Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord and the seven spider demons are also people with many ulterior motives.

Even without the help of Xu Xian and Buzhou Mountain, he could still create his own golden body to resist the Pleiades Star Lord.

Xu Xian wandered around for a while, nodding in admiration.

He revealed his true form, startling the centipede demon and the spider demon.

The centipede demon and the spider demon immediately persuaded the pilgrims to leave and closed the mountain gate.

Then he kowtowed to Xu Xian, tears welling in his eyes, and said, "Master!"

Xu Xian smiled and nodded, praising their cultivation over the years.

Then, he selected several suitable supernatural powers and taught them to the centipede demon and the spider demon.

The Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord and the Spider Demons possess innate supernatural powers, which could even cause some trouble for Sun Wukong.

Xu Xian didn't need to do anything more.

What he was teaching at this moment was a true life-saving technique.

This allows these monsters to survive under Sun Wukong's iron cudgel.

Having done all this, Xu Xian left the place and continued his journey to find monsters along the way.

Xu Xian wasn't interested in those monsters; he only glanced at them briefly before continuing westward.

Upon arriving at the Tongtian River Water Palace, they saw Wuzhiqi leading the Tongtian River demons, looking truly majestic.

Xu Xian chatted with Wuzhiqi for a while, then stopped talking.

After all, this monster was extremely powerful and did not need Xu Xian's instructions.

After leaving the Tongtian River, we were almost at the foot of Lingshan Mountain.

Xu Xian finally stopped walking forward and turned back to Buzhou Mountain.

"Hanba!"

Xu Xian summoned the Drought Demon and asked him to arrange a three-hundred-year cultivation plan for the demons of Buzhou Mountain, and to select the demons who would stand out from the crowd.

Drought Demon immediately nodded in agreement and then hurried to the mountain peak of the Eight Demon Kings.

They then stationed themselves there, constantly urging the monsters in the mountains to cultivate.

Xu Xian also fell silent.

He spent many happy days in Buzhou Mountain with Bai Suzhen and the Third Holy Mother.

In addition, Xu Xian also frequently visited friends and fellow immortals.

The Dragon Palace of the Four Seas and the Immortal Mountains overseas are all destinations for Xu Xian.

He would occasionally visit White Tiger Ridge and the Kingdom of Women.

Of course, the place he spent the most time was Lingtai Fangcun Mountain.

Xu Xian's future involves a major battle against Mount Ling and the Heavenly Court, so having the Bodhi Patriarch as his backer would make things much safer.

Therefore, Xu Xian shamelessly stayed on Lingtai Fangcun Mountain for decades.

Three hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye, and Buzhou Mountain has undergone tremendous changes.

First, let's look at the strength of the monsters.

Because the cultivation resources were doubled, and the Drought Demon constantly urged them on.

This made the demons on Buzhou Mountain cultivate even more vigorously.

Every fifty years, the Drought Demon would select a group of demons who had made outstanding progress and give them great rewards.

This was to motivate the other demons.

Three hundred years have passed, and the strength of the monsters has undergone earth-shattering changes.

According to Xu Xian's calculations, Buzhou Mountain is more than three times stronger than Guanjiangkou.

It was truly terrifying.

If this were placed on the journey to the West, it would be an insurmountable calamity that even the gods and Buddhas of the heavens could not overcome!

Xu Xian was very satisfied with the monsters' strength and then presented the plan he had prepared beforehand.

"Drought Demon, take note and order the Azure Dragon King to lead—"

Xu Xian blurted out that he would arrange for most of the demons on Buzhou Mountain to be stationed at the locations he had chosen, awaiting Tang Sanzang's journey to the West.

At this time, there were still several decades before the journey to the West began, which was exactly the time when monsters descended to the mortal realm on a large scale.

Xu Xian did not intend to get deeply involved in the calamities of Heaven and Buddhism, so he did not interfere much with those calamities.

He wanted to create a calamity for Buzhou Mountain.

Xu Xian spoke very quickly, and the Drought Demon noted it all down and immediately made arrangements.

The demons of Buzhou Mountain knew the time had come and were therefore extremely excited.

The demons remembered Xu Xian's orders and left Buzhou Mountain!

After arranging the demons, the Drought Demon himself set off in a certain direction along the Journey to the West.

At this point, only a handful of people remained on the entire Buzhou Mountain, including Xu Xian, Bai Suzhen, the Third Holy Mother, and Xiaoqing.

"It's quiet now."

The Holy Mother of the Third Princess looked at Xu Xian with a smile, her eyes filled with anticipation.

Clearly, this guy also wants to get involved in the Journey to the West.

Xu Xian shook his head: "Your background is too powerful and you are too famous. You are not suitable to be here."

"cut!"

The Holy Mother snorted, knowing that Xu Xian's consideration was correct.

If she appears on the journey to the West, she will definitely get Erlang Shen involved.

At that point, something unexpected may happen.

As for Bai Suzhen and Xiaoqing—

Xu Xian looked at the two of them and said, "Please ask Xiaoqing to go to Tianzhu Kingdom to spread the Dharma, and then intercept Tang Sanzang."

"Alright! What happens after the interception?"

Xu Xian recalled the perfect scenario he had deduced and said, "Show your strength, and then people will naturally negotiate with you."

Xiaoqing became excited: "What conditions do I want?"

Xu Xian spoke a few words, and Bai Suzhen's eyes widened.

The Holy Mother and Xiaoqing were extremely excited, their bodies even trembling slightly.

Bai Suzhen said, "Neither the Heavenly Court nor the Buddhist sect would agree to conditions of this caliber, would they?"

Xu Xian, holding Bai Suzhen's hand, smiled and said, "If they disagree, then you'll need to step in and forcefully suppress all the gods and Buddhas!"

After making arrangements for Xiaoqing and Bai Suzhen, Xu Xian set up the Yaotai Golden Cloud and arrived at the foot of the Five Elements Mountain.

This time, he was not in a hurry to leave.

Instead, they built a thatched hut outside the Five Elements Mountain and picked wild fruits for Sun Wukong to eat every day.

The two often discussed philosophy, and they didn't find it boring.

Time passed slowly, and several decades went by.

Xu Xian calculated the time and said to Sun Wukong, "Junior brother, I'm leaving now."

"Where did Senior Brother go?"

"Go where I'm meant to be. By the way, you'll be out in about three years. There will be a monk then—"

Xu Xian didn't say much, because Guanyin Bodhisattva would give Sun Wukong a detailed introduction to Tang Sanzang's story.

He gave only a few brief instructions and then turned and left.

Xu Xian returned to Buzhou Mountain, gazed at the desolate mountain range, sat cross-legged to cultivate, and waited quietly.

Time passed quickly, and the Buddha finally decided on the eastward transmission of Mahayana Buddhism.

Maitreya Buddha finally realized that Xu Xian was right.

This eastward transmission of Mahayana Buddhism has indeed brought the greatest opportunity to the Buddhist lineage today.

Although the Buddha Tathagata ordered Guanyin Bodhisattva to go to the East to find a devout believer and to preside over the eastward transmission of Mahayana Buddhism.

But who doesn't know that Jin Chanzi is undergoing tribulation in the Eastern Land?

Isn't this blatantly bestowing an opportunity upon his disciple?

Guanyin Bodhisattva received the brocade cassock, the nine-ringed staff, the golden headband, and other treasures bestowed by the Tathagata.

It caused it to be half cloud and half mist, heading straight towards the eastern land.

Maitreya Buddha smiled on the surface, but in his heart he secretly called out to his disciple Huang Mei, instructing him to guard the Journey to the West to verify the quality of Jin Chanzi.

Other forces from the Heavenly Court and Buddhism also sprang into action, placing their own influence along the Journey to the West.

Although they could sense that things were already a little different on their journey to the West.

But that doesn't stop them from getting involved and taking a share of the profits.

Thus, the Journey to the West finally began.

Xu Xian was not involved in the affairs of the Tang Dynasty, so the story here continues to unfold according to the established timeline.

When Guanyin Bodhisattva reversed the Journey to the West and encountered the White Dragon Horse, Sha Wujing, Zhu Bajie, and Sun Wukong, she told them about the journey to the West.

He instructed him to wait there for his master, and then went to the Tang Dynasty to enlighten Tang Sanzang.

The story of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, remains unchanged.

Because of the Jinghe Dragon King, Emperor Taizong of Tang made a nighttime visit to the underworld and made a pact with the wronged souls to hold a grand water and land ceremony to deliver them from suffering.

As a highly accomplished monk of the Tang Dynasty, Tang Sanzang naturally had to preside over this grand event.

During the Water and Land Assembly, Guanyin Bodhisattva appeared and told Tang Sanzang that what he was reciting was Hinayana Buddhism, which could not truly liberate the souls of the dead.

It is absolutely necessary to have Mahayana Buddhism!

At this point, Emperor Taizong of Tang arranged for Tang Sanzang to begin his journey to the West.

Meanwhile, Tang Sanzang traveled westward and did not encounter any demons or monsters within the territory of the Tang Dynasty.

It wasn't until they reached the outskirts of Gongzhou, almost at the border, that some unexpected events occurred.

Because we've reached Shuangcha Ridge!

When Tang Sanzang arrived at Shuangcha Ridge, he found the place to be auspicious, with ordinary people bustling about, yet their faces showed no sorrow.

His complexion was comparable to that of the citizens of Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty.

This surprised Tang Sanzang quite a bit.

He inquired about the reason and was overjoyed.

There used to be a temple here that could help ordinary people get rid of disasters and misfortunes, and it was very popular with worshippers.

To Tang Sanzang's delight, the people in the temple were indeed skilled in subduing demons and monsters.

I heard that a few days ago, a young lay Buddhist in the temple personally captured three monsters: Special Envoy, Lord Xiongshan, and General Yin.

This truly astonished everyone, making them even more convinced of the temple's existence.

When Tang Sanzang was traveling west, he vowed to burn incense at every temple he encountered and to worship Buddha whenever he came across one.

Although he did not know which deity was enshrined in the temple, he could not break his vow.

Therefore, when Tang Sanzang arrived at Shuangcha Ridge, he went straight to the temple.

The temple remains bustling with activity and incense offerings.

Tang Sanzang followed the crowd to the center of the temple and looked up at the deity enshrined there.

He looked puzzled.

He was so young, and he was a deity that Tang Sanzang had never heard of before.

This puzzled him greatly, and he found himself unconsciously uttering disrespectful words.

"This deity was only recognized hundreds of years ago; was he perhaps a licentious worshipper before that?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Tang Sanzang panicked.

He didn't know why he had said such things, but he knew he had committed a grave taboo.

As soon as he opened his mouth, he drew angry stares from the surrounding worshippers.

"Hey, what did you say, you old bald monk?"

"What is 'sexual worship'?"

"This temple is extremely efficacious and has been officially recognized."

"What are your intentions in speaking like this now?"

The pilgrims cursed and swore, and some hot-tempered ones even started shoving Tang Sanzang, trying to force his head to apologize to Xu Xian.

I don't know if it was intentional or unintentional.

One of the stronger worshippers gave a forceful push.

Tang Sanzang stumbled and fell in front of the offering table, instinctively reaching out to steady the statue.

Clang!

It's unclear how Tang Sanzang, a mere mortal, could possess such strength; the enormous golden statue of the deity collapsed with a crash, slamming violently to the ground.

There was a moment of silence in the crowd, followed by a surge of anger.

"This monk not only spoke rudely, but even knocked over the statue of a deity."

"Unworthy of being a son! Unworthy of being a son!"

"Kill this monk to appease the gods' anger."

"Kill him! Kill him!"

The crowd was filled with righteous indignation, wishing they could tear Tang Sanzang to pieces and skin him alive.

Tang Sanzang was so frightened that he could only chant Amitabha Buddha's name.

Just as the crowd was about to take action, the Scorpion Woman appeared.

Scorpion women enjoy extremely high prestige among the people, and can even be called the spokesperson of the gods.

Her appearance naturally calmed the people around her.

The pilgrims dared not make any more noise, but they still couldn't help but glare angrily at Tang Sanzang.

A bolder worshipper bowed to the Scorpion Woman and said, "Layman, this monk has ill intentions; he actually knocked over the statue. What do you suggest we do with him?"

Knowing that the layman before him was the person in charge of this place, Tang Sanzang immediately stood up, bowed to the layman, and said, "Amitabha, this humble monk is from the Great Tang Dynasty in the East. I am here on the orders of the Tang Emperor to travel to the Western Paradise to retrieve the scriptures. This humble monk—"

Before Tang Sanzang could finish speaking, the Scorpion Woman waved her hand to interrupt him.

"I don't care who you are or where you're going. All I know is that you toppled the idol and deserve to be punished."

"

"Men, tie this monk up!"

"At that time, we will offer it to the gods along with the three sacrificial animals."

Upon hearing this, the pilgrims immediately took action and bound Tang Sanzang tightly.

His horses and entourage were also bound and tied to pillars outside the main hall.

The Scorpion Woman looked at the struggling Tang Sanzang, a hint of smugness flashing in her eyes.

Success!

Next, I'll just wait for the Six Ding and Six Jia, and the Daily Duty Officer to come and beg me.

Will Venus come?
