Chapter 15 Teleportation Items
Chapter 15 Teleportation Items
Li Lianhua took the Polaroid camera from Wu You, and mimicking her actions, took two steps back, pressed the button, and soon a photo of a young girl appeared in Li Lianhua's hand. She took several more photos before stopping.
Wu You took it and looked at it. Huh, what is this? It's pitch black. You can only make out a human shape. You can't see anything else.
"Come here and take a look at these. What's different?" Wu You asked, placing the photos he had taken with Li Lianhua on the stool.
Li Lianhua stared at it for a long time but couldn't figure it out. She tentatively asked, "Is it just that the people inside are different?"
Wu You laughed: "Didn't you notice that the people I photographed are all very clear, and the backgrounds aren't too cluttered? Even those whose faces aren't clearly visible have a certain artistic conception when combined with the background."
"Furthermore, the light only brings out the beauty of the photo when it's in the right place; otherwise, it's a disaster. Look at these photos you took; someone who didn't know better would think they were ghosts."
"I didn't know there were so many intricacies involved. I'll give it another try." Li Lianhua got up, ready to start filming.
Wu You pulled Li Lianhua aside and explained some basic composition techniques, such as where to place different types of light. Although Wu You's photography skills weren't great, they were more than enough for someone trying it for the first time.
Li Lianhua took another picture based on Wu You's suggestion, and to be honest, it did have that feel to it.
Li Lianhua wanted to keep going, but Wu You stopped her.
"Let's not take any more pictures. The lighting isn't good at night, and you won't get any good photos. It's better to take them during the day," Wu You said, stopping Li Lianhua in her tracks.
"Then I'll try again tomorrow." Li Lianhua stopped in her tracks. "Youyou, how about I leave this with you for now, and I'll return it to you tomorrow?"
"Keep it if you like, I have more." Wu You waved her hand dismissively.
"Thank you very much, Youyou. How long will this last?"
"This uses specific paper and ink, so it can't be used once it's used up. Wait a moment, I'll go get some more, I'm afraid I'll forget about it another day." After Wu You finished speaking, he returned to his room. There wasn't much left, so he went back to the old house and ordered two boxes of each.
"Look, it's his specific paper and ink; nothing else will do. This should be enough for about 300 sheets. Come back to me when you're done. Come closer, and I'll show you how to put them in. Next time, you can do it yourself." Wu You only had to demonstrate once before Li Lianhua was able to do it on her own.
"It's pretty simple. I'll take some nice photos of Youyou tomorrow."
"We can talk about tomorrow's problems tomorrow. Now that the fireworks are over, let's play this instead."
Wu You quietly stuffed all of Li Lianhua's photos into his pocket, picked up the sparklers on the ground next to him, lit a few with a lighter, and handed two to Li Lianhua: "Look, aren't these pretty too?"
"It's really nice, like sparks from a fire, twinkling on and off." Li Lianhua took the fairy wand and exclaimed, "It's truly different from previous years, a brand new year."
In the room, Wu You was hugging Li Lianhua's photo and chuckling to himself, looking completely lost in thought, a far cry from his usual composed and lively self.
I realized I hadn't messaged my brother yet, and it was almost one o'clock. I wondered if he was asleep. I quickly put down the photo and took out my phone to type.
'Brother, are you asleep?'
"I'm still awake, waiting for your message." The reply came shortly after.
Happy New Year, brother! There were so many fireworks today, I'm still not sleepy.
"You're celebrating the New Year while I'm not, Youyou, Happy New Year!"
'If I celebrate, then you celebrate too; we'll celebrate the New Year together.'
Wu You had discovered long ago that the flow of time here was different from that in the original world. He had been here for almost half a year, while in the original world it would only take half a month. He figured that even if he died normally in this world, he would only be in his twenties or thirties if he could return to the original world.
Living an extra life is wonderful, provided you can go back after death; otherwise, it's all for nothing.
"I ate lots of delicious food today, played a lot of fun games, and took many photos. Wait a minute, I'll take some and show them to you."
Wu You moved Li Lianhua's photo aside and arranged the other photos he had taken on the table. Many of these photos were taken when Li Lianhua wasn't looking, including couplets, red lanterns, dinner, fireworks, and so on. He took photos of them all and sent them to Wu Lu.
Wu You was about to click the camera function below, but instead, she clicked the 'Scan' function in the upper right corner. In an instant, the scanned photo on the table disappeared, and Wu You was shocked and searched around for it.
Only Li Lianhua's photo and the photos that hadn't been scanned by the phone remained on the table. The neatly arranged photos from before had completely disappeared, and there were none under the table either.
Just as I was wondering what was going on, I saw my phone and a bold idea suddenly popped into my head. Before I could even calm myself down, a message popped up in my brother's chat window.
I received a lot of photos, it startled me! Are they your photos? Do you still have the photos you had?
'It's gone. I'm looking for it. Looks like it was teleported to your location.'
Wu You quickly replied. Previously, Wu You had only taken some landscape photos and portraits with her phone and sent them to her brother. She had never realized that the "scan" function could actually send things over.
'It can actually be sent; I just hadn't noticed before. Try sending it to other devices.'
Wu You swept his hand across a vase on the windowsill. It was a bit far away, so he swept the shelf as well. Then, both items vanished instantly.
Brother, did you receive this? I've disappeared from your end.
A moment later, a message popped up in the dialog box: 'The vase and shelf have been delivered without any damage.'
"That's great! I'll send you anything good here from now on. Oh, and I have a few ingots of gold that the Emperor bestowed upon me before. Take them and exchange them for some money, take good care of yourself, and find a wife."
Wu You took out the box where he kept his money and sent the two largest ones to Wu Lü.
"What are you looking for, sister-in-law? I don't even know where you are right now. Let's talk when you come back safely." Wu Lu sent the message helplessly and resignedly.
"When fate brings you together, you should seize the opportunity. Besides, I'm doing just fine, and it's good that we're both safe and sound. If you don't want to look for someone now, you can use the money to buy a house. Our old house is so old; it's almost uninhabitable," Wu You comforted her.
"Your brother will make money buying the house; you can keep it for yourself, or I can save it for your dowry."
"I have plenty more here, there won't be any shortage. The dowry issue is still a long way off. Use it to buy a house; you'll need a new house after you get married. It's settled then. Let me know if you need more."
"Okay, okay, but we can only buy two sets at most with this money, no more."
"That's exactly what I was thinking. Keep striving for more, I'm not supporting you anymore. It's getting late, I'm going to sleep now, goodnight."
'Okay, get some rest, goodnight.'
