Chapter 88: Staged Accident
Chapter 88: Staged Accident
Since she didn't know when she would be leaving, Song Miqiu didn't order anything. She just looked around, examining everything she didn't recognize before turning her gaze away.
After waiting and waiting without seeing Yu Huailin come downstairs, she suddenly wanted to call someone over.
But before Song Miqiu could even raise his hand, he was already being stared at by a waiter-like figure.
"You've come at the perfect time..."
"Are you sitting here trying to freeload? Get out of here!"
The man didn't even give Song Miqiu a chance to explain. He reached out and grabbed her arm, trying to drag her away.
Worried that someone might discover his martial arts skills, Song Miqiu couldn't retaliate and could only keep looking out the window, hoping that the person outside would hear the commotion and come in.
But she seemed to have forgotten that if she couldn't reveal her martial arts skills, how could the person outside possibly expose themselves?
After a brief standoff, Song Miqiu finally couldn't stand the man's foul language and pushed him away.
"It's just money, right? I have plenty. Just give me one of all the signature dishes you have right now."
"With your poor appearance, if you can come up with the price of a dish, you don't have to pay a penny. This meal is on me."
Upon hearing this, Song Miqiu was naturally not going to back down. He immediately put his hand in his pocket, but his body suddenly stiffened.
She had changed her clothes earlier, and now she was indeed completely naked.
Just as Song Miqiu was considering whether to get some points from the system, a clear sound suddenly came from the rooftop, and his brows furrowed again.
"I told you you had no money, but you insisted on pretending. Get out of here right now, or don't blame me for being impolite."
"You really are... Never mind, I'll leave now, just don't lay a hand on me."
Hearing Song Miqiu's explanation, the waiter became even more dissatisfied, and his men became increasingly violent, almost pushing the man down the stairs.
Fortunately, just as Song Miqiu was about to fall, a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed the two of them.
"I was only gone out for a moment, why are you being kicked out?"
"What do you mean? No, you ran out of there for no reason! I didn't see you just now! Someone come quick, there's someone here..."
Yu Huailin pulled Song Miqiu behind him first, then returned to his previous position. He tried to find the money pouch he usually carried, but his hand found nothing.
Both of them were stunned for a moment, and then looked at the window with even more astonishment. Unfortunately, the people outside should have left long ago, and now they were completely helpless.
"Why is it that none of you have any money? Trying to act like big shots here?"
"What do you mean by acting like a big shot? We just came up to rest for a bit. We didn't dirty your table, and we didn't dine and dash. What exactly do you mean by all this?"
The waiter looked at where Song Miqiu was sitting, and after confirming that he did not see any mud, he knew that what she said was true. His brows furrowed even more, as if he was thinking about how to get rid of her.
Unfortunately, his reaction was not as fast as the other two. Just as he was about to speak, he saw Song Miqiu's legs buckle and he collapsed to the ground.
"You're just talking, why did you have to hit me? Why can't I feel my wife's legs? Help!"
"What's wrong with you, old woman? I didn't lay a hand on you!"
But Song Miqiu ignored him completely, letting out a cold laugh and continuing to pound her legs on the ground.
The pain seemed to increase with each thrust, but she felt nothing.
Seeing this, the waiter realized something was wrong and was about to make a move when he heard the boss's voice.
"What's going on? What are you all making a fuss about now?"
"You're the manager? This waiter suddenly started touching this old woman inappropriately, and now I can't feel my legs at all. What do you suggest we do?"
The shopkeeper seemed to be hearing about this for the first time, and stood there stunned for a long time before finally giving the waiter a look of astonishment and slapping him on the forehead.
"I told you not to cause trouble, and look what good things you've done!"
"But these two didn't bring a single penny. They clearly wanted to dine and dash. I watched them for a long time before they came up."
Upon hearing this, the shopkeeper frowned, wanting to say something, but he also felt that what he said was right, and couldn't help but look at Song Miqiu.
But this one glance made Song Miqiu cry even harder. Her already wrinkled face was now even more difficult to look at because of the tears.
He immediately looked away. He wanted the waiter to apologize, but he felt that this wouldn't get rid of him, so he could only pay out of his own pocket and put the money on the table.
"Don't cry anymore, old lady. Consider this money as my apology to you. Let him take you to see a doctor now. Maybe this is just temporary. If it drags on for too long, it will be a loss."
"Would an old woman covet your little bit of money? I'm wronged. I clearly didn't do anything, so why am I being harmed like this?"
After saying that, he would beat his chest and stamp his feet, saying that he had come to a place he shouldn't have come to.
Unfortunately, before he could finish speaking, the shopkeeper took out another piece of silver and slammed it on the table.
"What are you looking at, Xiao Liang? Hurry up and apologize to the old man and take him to the clinic."
"Don't touch me, it's because of you that I've become like this."
Song Miqiu slapped his hand away before reaching out to Yu Huailin.
Seemingly not wanting to lose face, he readily grasped her hand, pulled her behind his back, and prepared to leave.
Just as he passed the corner of the table where the silver coins were placed, the person on his body suddenly moved, and Yu Huailin felt a slight change in his body, causing him to frown.
"Hurry up and leave. Do you really want to see this old woman crippled?"
"How could that be?"
He couldn't help but sigh inwardly before turning his gaze away and quickly leaving this place of trouble.
Once they left the restaurant, Song Miqiu immediately pushed the person aside with his hand, and the person landed safely on the ground.
Those legs, standing straight, showed no signs of their previous crippled state.
"I'm afraid I won't be able to go to that place again in the future."
"Not necessarily."
Song Miqiu gave Yu Huailin a sly smile, then looked around. As if he had smelled something, his nose twitched slightly, and he walked in another direction.
Seeing her like this, Yu Huailin wanted to take her away directly, but because they had already created some distance, he had no choice but to follow.
When I stopped again, I was standing in front of a small wonton stall.
"Would you like to try some of this?"
"It's just regular wontons."
Song Miqiu didn't react to Yu Huailin's words at all. He simply threw all the loose silver into the money box and asked the stall owner for two portions.
"The taste here is absolutely authentic."
"You didn't eat any, so why are you so sure?"
Song Miqiu didn't speak, but just sniffed again, as if trying to inhale all the fragrance in one breath.
