Chapter 77 Real-time Monitoring
Chapter 77 Real-time Monitoring
Ji Xingyi reached out and tugged at the diamond necklace around her neck, but was stopped by Jiang Lin.
"Untie it," he said, slightly out of breath.
Jiang Lin's eyes curved into crescent moons: "Why? Because it looks great."
Looking at the young man's indifferent smile, Ji Xingyi felt a surge of negative emotions that had been suppressed in his heart, and his fingertips began to tremble.
“Jiang Lin…”
Even his voice began to sound damp.
"Don't do that."
The smile on Jiang Lin's lips vanished visibly, her tone carrying a barely perceptible danger: "What, you don't like this gift?"
Ji Xingyi used to wish he could drown in the young man's eyes, but now he suddenly realized that he might never have truly understood them. A bitter feeling welled up inside him, spreading unchecked throughout his body, and he said in a deep voice, "I don't like it."
"You don't like it?" Jiang Lin raised her head slightly, her eyes looking down at the man beneath her with disdain.
It was an absurd night; the two had spent it back-to-back for the first time. Jiang Lin didn't understand why Ji Xingyi was throwing a tantrum, but given his personality, he would never back down first. When he woke up the next morning to find the bed empty, a rare look of annoyance appeared on Jiang Lin's face.
Today is Saturday, and there are no classes. Jiang Lin casually changed into a set of home clothes and went downstairs, where she ran into Zhang Hui, who was returning from dropping Ji Xingyi off at work.
"Linlin, would you like dumplings or noodles for breakfast?" Zhang Hui, oblivious to their unusual behavior, prepared breakfast for Jiang Lin as usual. It's tough being a bodyguard; he's not only a driver, but also has to double as a caretaker for two people.
"Dumplings, please," Jiang Lin replied casually, sitting down at the table to look at the latest news reports. "By the way, Brother Hui, did you guys go to Yuejiang Times yesterday?"
“Yeah!” Zhang Hui muttered as he boiled water, complaining about last night’s explosion: “You have no idea…it really scared me to death! If anything happened to Xingyi, I wouldn’t know how to explain it to you.”
"No need to explain to me. What do you need to explain to me?" Jiang Lin sipped a glass of water with an indifferent expression, completely unaware of how strange his tone was.
Zhang Hui placed the dumplings in front of Jiang Lin: "Xingyi doesn't seem to have rested well these past two days, Linlin, please take good care of him."
Whose fault is it that he can't sleep well? It's his own fault for throwing a tantrum. Jiang Lin looked at the steaming dumplings and found he had no appetite: "Brother Hui, did Xingyi see anyone yesterday?"
Although Mia's cipher text wasn't difficult, given Jiang Lin's understanding of Ji Xingyi, it was probably unsolvable.
Someone helped him.
Zhang Hui: "Oh, I almost bumped into someone yesterday. That person knew Xingyi, I think his name was... Chen Jiangqiao."
Upon hearing Chen Jiangqiao's name, Jiang Lin put down his soup spoon and said, "Brother Hui, I'm done eating. I have some things to do today, so please don't bother me for now." After saying that, he turned and went upstairs to his study.
"Okay!" Zhang Hui grabbed a rag to clear the dishes, only to find that Jiang Lin had only eaten one dumpling from the large bowl. He sighed helplessly, "They're all such a handful!"
After entering the study, Jiang Lin locked the door behind him. He drew the curtains, turned on only the dim ambient light behind him, took out his laptop, and began typing.
A very detailed map of Hangzhou appeared on the screen, and the next second, all of Ji Xingyi's movements from the previous night appeared on the black and white map.
If Ji Xingyi saw this, he would be so shocked that he would be speechless. The person he trusted most had actually planted a Trojan program on his phone.
After leaving the Lin family home, he stayed at a bar for 1 hour and 23 minutes, then quickly arrived at the Yuejiang Times Building. He stopped at the entrance for 5 minutes. After the explosion at 22 PM, he entered the Yuejiang Times Building, representing Ji Xingyi's location. At 22:18 PM, he left the Yuejiang Times Building, and at 22:54 PM, he arrived at the Xingyue Hotel. After staying there for 38 minutes, he drove home.
Jiang Lin's eyes darkened, and he typed on the keyboard again. Three minutes later, a folder popped up from the rapidly scrolling data.
It contains a recording.
从11月1日22点54分截取到23点32分。
Jiang Lin clicked play, and the voices of Ji Xingyi and Chen Jiangqiao appeared. Because it was automatically recorded by a mobile phone Trojan program, the sound wasn't very clear. Jiang Lin reduced the noise, performed AI-assisted analysis, and then played it again.
"Two hundred thousand, you help me investigate this matter." ... "Are you serious? You want me to investigate Jiang Lin?" ... "Find out what this pattern represents." ...
In the dim light, Jiang Lin crossed his right leg over his left, interlaced his fingers, leaned back in the sofa chair, and silently stared at the laptop screen.
Ji Xingyi deliberately found some work to do at the company, and it was already 10 p.m. when she got home. She quietly pushed open the door, and Jiang Lin was already asleep.
Afraid of waking Jiang Lin, Ji Xingyi took a shower in her own room before getting into bed. She wanted to hug the young man, but in the end, she silently put her hand down, turned off the light, and quietly went to sleep beside him.
The two spent another night together, and on the third day, Zhang Hui finally realized something was wrong.
"Working overtime on Saturday is one thing, but why work overtime on Sunday?!" Zhang Hui, always the older brother figure taking care of his two younger brothers, quickly stopped Ji Xingyi as he was about to leave again. Catching Jiang Lin coming downstairs out of the corner of his eye, Zhang Hui immediately complained, "Linlin, you have to talk to him! Breakfast is ready but he won't eat it; isn't that a waste of food?!"
Jiang Lin walked to the dining table, glanced at Ji Xingyi, and said in a flat tone, "Let him be. I'm going to Crescent Bay to see Yi Jing at 10 o'clock. Brother Hui, you can take me there later."
Ji Xingyi paused as she stepped out the door, but her body reacted before her brain, turning back to Jiang Lin.
"What did he want to ask you out for?"
This was the first time the two had spoken in two days since the Cold War began.
