Chapter 268 The Forgotten Diary

Besides the two empty beds, room 404 also has two quiet, model students.

From the moment they entered until they made the bed, the two girls kept their heads down, reading and doing exercises, as if Lu He and Xia Lan didn't exist.

Could it be a minor character with little screen time?

"Excuse me..." Lu He pointed to the two empty beds, wanting to start a conversation with her two roommates.

But the two roommates packed up their books, got up, and left, as if they were avoiding something.

After making the bed, Lu He opened the wardrobe to hang up her clothes, only to find a small, locked box inside.

The two stopped what they were doing and carefully took out the small wooden box, placing it on the table.

"Let's see if there's a key in the drawer," Lu He said, pulling open the drawer to search.

Xia Lan had already checked the drawer when she was tidying up, and the key probably wasn't there. She stared at the small box for a moment, then suddenly took a deep breath.

With a crisp "crack," the hand chopped down heavily, splitting the wooden box on the table into four pieces.

She walked up to the two women in a few quick steps, carefully examining them to make sure they weren't behaving suspiciously. Then her gaze fell on the neatly made bed and the open wardrobe.

Finally, it rested on the fragments of the wooden box on the table.

"What is this?" Zhou Ziyin's eyes were full of vigilance. Her intuition told her that there was something wrong with these two people.

"I don't know... We've only been here a short time..." Lu He immediately spoke up, feigning ignorance and denying the box.

She knew Xia Lan wasn't good at lying, so she decided to do it herself, since it went against the female lead's character.

"Don't try anything funny..." After warning him, Zhou Ziyin paused for a moment before answering Lu He's earlier question: "Su Qing stabbed someone with a knife... but she did nothing wrong... she was just acting in self-defense..."

After Zhou Ziyin finished speaking, she left room 404 directly.

Lu He and Xia Lan were left looking at each other in bewilderment. It seemed that the diary and Su Qing's name had triggered Zhou Ziyin's character progression.

However, we don't have enough clues yet.
