Leap Forward Comics: Watch How I Become a Villainess

The bug in the revision of Chapter 157

The bug in the revision of Chapter 157

In a daze, Lu He seemed to be having a very long dream.

The department head, eager for credit, submitted the flawed plan directly to the client, while the problems Lu He discovered during his review were suppressed and not reported.

Finally, the project ran into a major problem. The company lost the order, but the department head made her take the blame and she was fired by the company.

She was angry and upset, and she didn't want to answer her long-distance boyfriend's calls or reply to his messages.

The original purpose of the long-distance relationship was to have a nominal boyfriend to appease her family. The other party treated her very well and cared for her, but she chose to be in a long-distance relationship so that she wouldn't have to see him often.

Every time her boyfriend wanted to meet, she would make excuses. This time it was their anniversary, and her boyfriend wanted to meet her, but he couldn't get in touch with her no matter what he tried.

Eventually, after drinking a bit too much at the bar, she answered the phone.

"Lu He! Where are you?"

"Who are you?" Lu He asked, still confused.

"Oh, you're at a bar?"

"Hmm?" Lu He squinted and picked up her phone to carefully read the name on the caller ID.

"I've really had enough! Let's break up! I seriously doubt if you ever loved me even a little bit." After saying this, the other party hung up the phone, leaving only a busy tone.

"What the hell?" Lu He muttered, put down her phone, and continued drinking.

"Why are you drinking here?" A gentle, sweet voice came from behind.

Lu He turned around and saw a girl standing by the bar, half of her face shrouded in darkness.

"Lanlan? Is that you?" Lu He seemed to sober up a bit.

"Why did you leave without saying a word?" It was Xia Lan's trembling, sobbing voice.

"I..." Lu He panicked immediately. She wanted to go over and apologize to her.

But she seemed unable to stand up; her body felt as heavy as if it were filled with lead.

Looking up again, Xia Lan, who had been standing in the shadows, was gone.

"Why did you leave without saying goodbye? Why did you do this to me?" Heartbreaking sobs came from behind me again.

Lu He looked in the direction of the sound.

A helpless girl cried uncontrollably, shouting questions at another person's back.

Why are you pretending not to know me?

It was Lu He, in her early twenties, crying out to the woman who had suddenly abandoned her. She was trapped in this time, trapped in the shadow of this woman.

As an observer, Lu He watched her younger self in her twenties writhe in agony. She wanted to hug her younger self and tell her that it was all in the past and that she needed to move on.

"Lu He, why did you choose to leave without saying goodbye and suddenly disappear, knowing that this would hurt me?"

A pair of slender, jade-like hands reached out from the darkness and grabbed Lu He's collar. She was wearing the magnificent brocade robes she had just received upon ascending the throne, but there was no joy in her eyes.

“Li Cen…” Lu He closed her eyes. No, where is this? This isn’t a bar.

Suddenly, everything around her fell silent. When she opened her eyes again, all she could see was darkness; she couldn't see anything at all.

"System? Is the system here?"

No response.

What's going on here?

"Lu He?" Li Cen's gentle voice rang out again.

This time it seemed to come from the sky. Lu He looked up, but could see nothing but darkness.

"Lu He? Don't scare me, wake up!" Li Cen spoke anxiously, "Imperial Physician, what happened to her?"

Imperial Physician? Lu He's mind raced. Was she still in the comic book? Had she not been recalled by the system?

She carefully recalled her memories before the blackout.

Outside the main hall, she collapsed, coughing up blood, and then she remembered nothing more.

"Li Cen? Where are you?" Lu He shouted into the darkness above.

But then everything fell silent again.

Suddenly, in the darkness, it was as if the screen was dropping frames, flickering incessantly, followed by what looked like countless pieces of glass shattering.

Lu He watched as the ground cracked and sank, and began to run desperately, but he lost his footing and fell into the abyss.

"Ah!" Lu He exclaimed, sitting up abruptly in bed.

It was midnight. Li Cen was keeping watch by her bedside. He had just dozed off when she yelled at him and woke him up.

"You're awake!" Li Cen looked at her with delight, and took out a handkerchief to wipe the fine sweat from her forehead: "Why are you sweating so much?"

"Your Highness the Princess..."

"It's His Majesty now!" a palace maid reminded her.

"Oh, I'm sorry..."

"It's alright, how are you feeling now? You vomited blood during the day, it scared me to death..." Li Cen raised her hand to signal the palace maid not to dwell on those titles, she was more concerned about Lu He's health now.

"Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty. I am much better now," Lu He replied politely.

“You should thank His Majesty properly,” the palace maid interjected again, “His Majesty stayed by your side all day. The imperial physician came to see you during the day and said you might not make it. His Majesty was so worried…”

A whole day? Lu He thought of that dream again. The sounds she heard in the dream were actually from daytime. How long had she been sleeping in a daze?

"Qiuxue, you may leave." Li Cen was afraid that if the palace maid continued to say this, it would burden Lu He, so he sent her away.

Then she switched back to a gentle tone: "Are you really feeling better?"

"Really, Your Majesty, you must be exhausted. You should go and rest." Lu He was flattered and urged Li Cen to go and rest.

“Uh, I…” Li Cen looked at Lu He and stammered shyly.

Lu He then realized that she was sleeping in Li Cen's bedroom and had taken over his bed.

"I'm sorry, this..."

"It's alright, you should rest. There are so many palaces in the palace, surely there's somewhere for me to sleep?" Li Cen spoke to Lu He, never using the title "朕" (Zhen, meaning "I" or "the Emperor"), but instead using "我" (Wo, meaning "I" or "I").

"Thank you, Your Majesty!" Lu He, holding onto the bedside, bowed his head and managed a weak bow.

I don't know why, but I feel very weak.

After a while, the sound of Li Cen's footsteps fading away from the bedchamber could be heard. With a creak, the palace maids closed the door.

"System! System, are you there?" Lu He hurriedly called out to the system.

She desperately needed to know what was happening.

"I'm here," the system replied.

"What's going on? Didn't Li Cen become emperor? Why am I still here?"

"Don't worry, I've encountered a small problem."

"What minor problem? Why am I vomiting blood? Why has my body suddenly become so weak?" Lu He said, coughing a few times as he spoke.

“I made a few changes to the bytecode because I didn’t intend for you to be reassigned to the villain Li Cen… but you refused to follow that procedure at the time…”

"What process?" Lu He asked, looking completely bewildered.

"So Li Cen was supposed to die at the hunting grounds, and then I replaced you with Li Cen. Didn't you disagree with her dying, so you forcibly changed the content?"

The system seemed hesitant, as if it were hiding something.

"It was that modification I made back then that I forgot to delete... and now the program is missing..."

After hesitating for a while, the system finally made its point clear.

"You are currently a bugged byte in this comic and will be removed in three days."

"What!" Lu He was utterly shocked. Was he going to be eliminated? What did that mean?

"Am I going to die?" Lu He muttered to himself.
