Chapter 24 Everyone gets the stolen goods
"Senior Brother Huixin, why don't you come along too?" Han Yi looked at Huixin again, his eyes filled with expectation.
As they approached Xuan Song's cultivation cave, Hui Xin took out a treasure and used it to isolate the three of them from each other's presence. The three of them then quietly hid in a secluded mountain corner not far from the entrance of Xuan Song's cave.
"Junior brother, you suspect that Xuansong is up to no good behind the scenes. Do you have any evidence?" Huixin asked.
Han Yi lowered his voice and said, "I just saw that Senior Brother Xuan Song's clothes were torn and there were some bloodstains on them. If I'm not mistaken, the bloodstains must be from that giant bear. When Senior Sister went to find him, he was probably treating the giant bear's wounds."
Han Yi paused for a moment, then continued, "Xuan Song isn't like the two of you. He doesn't have that many healing pills. He couldn't bear to give them to that beast, and he doesn't know any incantation techniques, so he could only use his own spiritual power to heal it. That bloodstain was just an accidental smear. When Senior Sister came looking for him, she was in such a hurry that he could only take advantage of her not paying attention, tear off a corner of his sleeve, and pretend that no one would notice."
"Then why are we blocking him here?" Huixin asked again.
Han Yi said calmly, "If you were Xuan Song, what would you do?"
“The safest way is definitely to just kill him out. If that beast disappears completely, the secret will be buried forever,” Huixin blurted out.
“Xuansong is a beast tamer, and he has a special emotional bond with his beasts. He wouldn’t do that!” Han Yi said.
He wore a thoughtful expression, as if he could see through Xuan Song's inner turmoil.
He couldn't bear to kill them, nor could he keep them by his side, so he only had one path left to take!
Just as Han Yi had predicted, the deepest part of the cave where Xuan Song cultivated was dark and damp, with a fishy smell in the corners and a chilling aura that seeped into one's bones, making one shiver with cold.
A giant bear lay on the ground, its enormous body making the spacious cave seem crowded.
At this moment, the giant bear was seriously injured, blind in one eye, with its eye socket a bloody mess, its face bruised and swollen, and although the wounds on its body had stopped bleeding and scabbed over, the dark brown scabs looked like ugly patches.
Xuan Song walked to the giant bear with a gloomy expression, squatted down, and carefully examined the wounds. He was extremely annoyed: he never expected that things would be exposed so badly, and he was almost discovered by them.
"It's all your fault, you useless beast! You're a different species, yet you can't even beat a piece of trash?" Xuan Song cursed in a low voice.
This giant bear was a new tamed exotic species by Xuan Song. Its size was like a small mountain, and its intelligence far exceeded that of ordinary bears. He originally hoped that it would help him remove those "stumbling blocks" in his way, but unexpectedly, it caused a lot of trouble instead.
Xuan Song paced anxiously back and forth in the cave, like an ant on a hot pan, racking his brains for a solution. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and an idea came to him. After much deliberation, he decided to secretly put the giant bear into his spirit beast ring and take it down the mountain without anyone noticing.
Without hesitation, he flicked his wrist, a flash of light appeared, and the Spirit Beast Ring materialized. Xuan Song infused it with spiritual power, and the giant bear instantly transformed into a beam of light, being sucked into it. After doing this, Xuan Song quietly left the cave, once again stepping onto his flying sword and rushing down the mountain at lightning speed.
When they reached a remote, desolate spot at the foot of the mountain, Xuan Song released the giant bear. As soon as the bear's massive body appeared, it let out a muffled roar like thunder, shaking the surrounding tree branches.
Xuan Song looked at it with a helpless expression, sighed and instructed, "Stay around here for a while, and don't hurt anyone. I'll come back for you once this matter has calmed down."
But just as he was about to turn around, Mingyue and Huixin suddenly appeared as if they had sprung up from the ground.
Mingyue's brows furrowed into a deep frown, her eyes brimming with anger and disappointment: "Xuansong, why did you do such a thing?"
Huixin was furious, her face as red as a ripe tomato, veins bulging on her neck, eyes wide like copper bells, staring intently at Xuansong, and shouting at the top of her lungs: "You murderer, how dare you order a spirit beast to ambush your own junior brother! I advise you to surrender obediently and come with us to see Master!" She looked as if she was about to rush up and tear Xuansong to pieces at any moment.
Xuan Song was so shocked that his eyes almost popped out. His face turned deathly pale in an instant. He opened his mouth, but his throat seemed to be choked by something, and he couldn't utter a single word. He could only hang his head, like a wilted eggplant, and fall into a deathly silence.
At this moment, Han Yi strolled out leisurely, a stark contrast to Hui Xin's fiery temper. His expression was as calm as a still lake. He glanced at Xuan Song indifferently and said, "Fourth Senior Brother, hand over what you took from me."
"Things? How could you have what I want? That's hilarious!" Xuan Song said as if he had heard a joke.
"If it wasn't to steal the treasure, why would you do this? We've never had a falling out. I really don't understand why you would resort to such underhanded tactics against me."
"Because you're cheap, you deserve to die! You stole everything that should have belonged to me, shouldn't I kill you?" Xuan Song suddenly raised his head, glaring fiercely at Han Yi, the anger in his eyes seeming to burn him.
"Oh, so Fourth Senior Brother hates me that much?" Han Yi crossed his arms, slightly raised his chin, and a faint smile appeared on his lips. "That's truly my 'honor'!"
