The master is inhuman; he beat up his senior brother, destroyed the sect, and then left.

Chapter 12 Granny Wang

Chapter 12 Granny Wang

Han Yi slept very soundly, and when he woke up, it was almost dark.

He was in a daze, feeling like he was having a dream in which his senior sister kept teaching him the art of incantation.

The moment I opened my eyes, I was met with a pair of beautiful eyes.

Mingyue was staring at him.

"Are you hungry?" Mingyue asked softly.

Han Yi nodded subconsciously. Without saying a word, Mingyue reached out and hugged his waist, using her flying technique to take him flying towards the Taoist temple's kitchen.

As soon as I entered the kitchen, a warm and rich aroma wafted towards me, which was incredibly tempting.

In a corner of the kitchen, a middle-aged woman was busy at work; Mingyue called her Granny Wang.

Han Yi was puzzled. This woman didn't seem like a mother-in-law at all; she was clearly a beautiful woman who still retained her charm.

Grandma Wang was dressed in coarse cloth clothes, her long, black hair was casually tied back, her face was smooth and showed no signs of age, her skin was fair and rosy and very delicate, and her eyes were bright and sparkling.

Upon seeing Han Yi, she immediately wore a kind and friendly smile. Although her voice was a little hoarse, it warmed people's hearts.

She said, "Is this Xuanzi's new disciple? He's so handsome, like he stepped out of a painting."

Mingyue smiled and introduced to Han Yi, "Junior brother, Granny Wang's cooking is absolutely delicious. You must eat more of it later."

Han Yi was a little embarrassed and greeted Granny Wang with a blush.

Grandma Wang was very hospitable. She quickly invited him to sit down, and then deftly carried plate after plate of dishes to the wooden table, saying with a smile, "Good child, you must be starving! Try this and see if it suits your taste!"

Han Yi sat at the wooden table, his eyes curiously scanning the kitchen.

The kitchen is small, decorated in a rustic style, and simply furnished, with a rather old-fashioned wooden table in the middle.

Some kitchen utensils were hanging on the wall, and next to them was a small cabinet with the door half-open, through which you could vaguely see some rough pottery bowls and plates.

In one corner of the kitchen was a stone stove, which was wiped clean and had two large black pots on it, the edges of which were a little worn.

Neatly stacked firewood sat under the stove. Not far away, an old vegetable basket sat on the shelf of a small water vat. The basket was made of bamboo strips and was worn in some places. It was filled with fresh vegetables.

Han Yi was quite puzzled and couldn't help but ask, "How can such a small kitchen with only one table satisfy the needs of almost ten people on the mountain at the same time?"

Upon hearing this, Mingyue couldn't help but laugh out loud, saying, "Silly boy, our cultivation levels have all reached a fairly high level, and we no longer need to rely on food to obtain energy."

Han Yi then realized what was going on and was incredibly envious. He thought to himself, "So this is one of the benefits of having a high level of cultivation. You don't have to eat, which is so convenient!"

He couldn't help but mutter, "So, am I the only one on Qingluan Peak who still needs to eat?"

The mother-in-law laughed and joked, "Who said it's just you? Your sixth brother, all he does is eat all day long. He eats three meals a day without missing a single one. All that fat on his body comes from eating too much."

Just then, a voice came from behind: "Grandma, you're exposing my shortcomings again. Can't you give me some face in front of my junior brother?"

Huixin happened to appear at the kitchen door at that moment and overheard Granny Wang scolding her, so she immediately spoke up to refute her.

This angered Granny Wang, who stepped forward and grabbed Huixin's ear.

"Oh, so you've grown wings now and dare to talk back, huh? Don't forget who raised you from infancy, changing your diapers and feeding you. Look at all that fat on you, you don't look like a cultivator at all, you're just a glutton!"

Huixin winced in pain and begged for mercy.

"Grandma, please stop bringing up things from when I was little! I was wrong, okay? Please calm down and forgive me this time."

This unexpected farce made Han Yi burst into laughter. He never expected that the usually decisive and efficient fat man would have such a shameful past.

Han Yi laughed until his stomach hurt, constantly clutching it with both hands. Mingyue, on the other hand, remained calm, clearly used to this kind of scene.

He casually picked up a small dish with his chopsticks. It looked quite ordinary, and he wondered to himself, "How delicious can this be?"

His eyes lit up as soon as he put the food in his mouth.

This unassuming vegetable has an incredibly delicious flavor, even surpassing the delicacies found in the royal palace.

Every bite is filled with a rich aroma, the flavor swirling on the tongue, leaving a lingering aftertaste.

Seeing Han Yi's satisfied expression, Grandma Wang smiled and said, "Child, eat more. Grandma doesn't have any great skills, but my cooking is decent enough. Don't underestimate these ordinary vegetables; with a little effort, you can make delicious dishes."

Han Yi nodded repeatedly upon hearing this and even gave his mother-in-law a thumbs-up.

"Junior brother, eat less! I haven't eaten yet."

Seeing Han Yi eating one bite after another without stopping, Huixin quickly reminded him, but he himself was being held by the ear by Granny Wang and couldn't move.

"Never mind him, eat more if you like it, and Grandma will make you more when you're done."

Grandma Wang said. Upon hearing this, Huixin cried out in grievance, "Grandma, you're so biased! I usually ask you to do more, but you ignore me completely. It's different when it comes to Junior Brother!"

"Look at your own figure, and you're still thinking about food?" Grandma Wang not only ignored Huixin's complaints, but also mocked her even more.

Han Yi ate with great relish, his cheeks constantly bulging.

Hearing Huixin's complaints, he didn't stop eating, picking up food and shoveling rice into his mouth in one smooth motion. He even smiled sheepishly at Huixin and said indistinctly, "Senior brother, don't worry, there's still plenty of food, enough for us to eat."

"You should eat less. You have no manners at all. There are two beautiful ladies here. Don't you care about your image as a handsome young man? Even if I hadn't eaten for three days, I still wouldn't have wolfed down my food like this. Have you never eaten since you left the mountain?"

Mingyue couldn't help but laugh out loud, her laughter clear and melodious, like the sound of silver bells.

She gently took out a handkerchief and tenderly wiped the food stains from the corner of Han Yi's mouth. Her movements were natural and fluid, just as she often did this before.

This unintentional action stunned all three people present, including Han Yi himself.

This sudden display of affection made him somewhat embarrassed, so he cleared his throat to signal to Mingyue that there were other people around and they shouldn't be so blatant.

Mingyue, however, didn't care at all, giving him a disgruntled look and saying angrily, "What are you humming about? Is our affair something shameful or something?"

This sudden bombshell stunned all three people present. Not far away, Granny Wang's hand, which was gripping Huixin's ear, unknowingly loosened its grip without her noticing.

This scene reminded her of someone from the past, someone she had been in a similar situation with.

I couldn't help but think, "Youth is truly wonderful!"

Huixin felt his ear loosen and immediately escaped Granny Wang's "clutches." He rubbed his ear, which had been pulled red, and grabbed Han Yi's collar.

"You brat, you've only been here two days and you're already trying to seduce my senior sister?"

"Huixin, quickly let go of Junior Brother!" Mingyue quickly intervened.

Han Yi was completely baffled. What was going on?

Seeing Mingyue protecting Han Yi so much, Huixin ignored her and went straight to the wooden table, staring longingly at the dishes on the plate.

"You really are my good junior brother! Not only did you seduce my senior sister, but you also stole my food!"

Han Yi showed no sign of stopping. He quickly reached out to stop Han Yi from picking up food, but was stopped by a slender, jade-like hand.

"Senior sister, how come I never knew you had such a bad habit of being overly protective of your own? Am I no longer your most beloved junior brother?"

Grandma Wang watched the three of them playfully bickering, her eyes filled with affection. She turned around and went to get some more ingredients, muttering, "I'll go cook a few more side dishes. I'm happy today, so there's plenty of food!"

Looking at Huixin's pitiful and disfavored appearance, Han Yi smiled, picked up a large chopstick of food, ignored Mingyue's surprised look, and stuffed it directly into Huixin's mouth regardless of whether he wanted to or not.

Although Huixin looked disgusted, her mouth betrayed her, and she began chewing without hesitation, a satisfied expression on her face. "You've got some conscience, kid. It's not like my sincerity towards you was in vain."

Mingyue was speechless upon seeing this scene, thinking to herself: How can these two grown men be so ambiguous? Does Huixin have homosexual tendencies? Is she trying to steal my man?

Thinking this, Mingyue's gaze towards Huixin became strange, and she deliberately sat between Huixin and Han Yi to separate them.
