Chapter 39 You! Deserve! To Die!

Chapter Thirty-Nine: You! Deserve! To Die!

“At lunchtime, I sat behind Wang Yong’an, and he sat there muttering to himself.” Zhang De’s eyes were bloodshot, as if he were recalling something terrifying.

"What did he say?" Liu Quan was completely absorbed in Zhang De's story and couldn't pull himself away. He could only move closer to Zhang De, and the two men sat side by side, trembling together.

Zhang De glanced nervously out the window. "He muttered to himself that while he was on patrol that night, he saw a figure in red standing on the top of Villa No. 101, waving at him!"

"Hiss..." Liu Quan gasped and jumped up. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Would you have believed me if I had told you earlier?" Zhang De stared wide-eyed at Liu Quan.

"No, no, we can't patrol the mountain at night anymore, and we can't go up there in the future!" Liu Quan was so frightened that he paced around the room. "It still won't work. I'll resign tomorrow. The security guard job at Penglai Pavilion pays well, but my life is more important!"

Zhang De thought the same thing: "I'll quit my job too. At worst, I'll go home, get a boat, and go back to our family's old trade—fishing!"

Just then, the roar of a car engine came from outside.

Not many villas in the Penglai Pavilion community have been sold, as they are all located at the foot of the mountain, and even fewer have been occupied. There are very few vehicles coming and going at night.

“Brother Liu…” Zhang De was very nervous and didn’t want to go out.

Liu Quan had no choice but to open the window, fearing he wouldn't receive his salary that month.

There were no security guards at the main gate, and a horizontal bar blocked two luxury cars.

"Open the door!" the driver urged coldly, sticking his head out.

Liu Quan's eyes widened as he looked, and he quickly ran out, pressed the remote control button, and saluted. He recognized the first car as Dongfang Jiye's ride, a silver-gray Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Seeing the situation from the window, Zhang De quickly followed.

The two cars entered the residential area without incident, but stopped after driving a short distance, and the passengers got out of the cars.

Zhuo Yang waved to the two security guards, and Liu Quan and Zhang Defei quickly ran over.

"Mr. Zhuo, what do you need them for?" Dongfang Jiye asked curiously.

Zhuo Yang shook his head, his eyes flashing with cold light, and looked at the two security guards, saying in a deep voice, "Did you patrol the mountain tonight?"

Liu Quan nodded blankly, his mind unable to process what was happening in front of such an important figure. Zhang De was even more bewildered, looking completely lost.

"In that case, you two will have to come with me." Zhuo Yang frowned and turned to look at Villa No. 101, which was located halfway up the mountain.

Liu Quan looked reluctant but forced a smile and asked, "Mr. Zhuo, is there anything we can do for you?"

Zhuo Yang turned around and said indifferently, "If you two want to live, you'd better not stray too far from me tonight!"

"why?"

Seeing that Zhuo Yang seemed to be heading to Villa No. 101, Zhang De was so frightened that he almost turned around and ran away.

"Because of you..." Zhuo Yang stretched out his hands, pointing at the two security guards, "you are haunted by ghostly energy. Once it hits midnight, you will surely die!"

It's already 10 o'clock, and there are still two hours until midnight!

"Mom!"

Liu Quan and Zhang De collapsed instantly, lying on the ground like rag dolls.

Upon hearing this, Dongfang Jiye was also startled and asked nervously, "Mr. Zhuo, you're not joking, are you? They're just ordinary security guards, how could they have provoked something like that?"

Zhuo Yang didn't explain, but said in a deep voice, "Get them in the car and go to Villa No. 101. You'll understand when we get there!"

Dongfang Jiye felt increasingly terrified; the hairs on his body seemed to stand on end from the tension. Without daring to think further, he quickly instructed the driver to lift the two security guards into the car.

Ling Ling glanced at Zhuo Yang, stood next to Dongfang Jiye, and coldly surveyed the surroundings.

The two cars set off again and arrived at the lawn of Villa No. 101 halfway up the mountain in just a few minutes.

Everyone got out of the car, and Zhuo Yang counted the number of people: Dongfang Jiye, Ke'er, the old housekeeper, Ling Ling, the two drivers who also served as bodyguards, and two security guards, making a total of nine people including himself.

Dongfang Ke'er suddenly exclaimed, pointing to the highest point of the villa: "Look, the wall over there has collapsed, it looks like it was struck by lightning again!"

Everyone rushed to look and found that a piece of the roof was missing, and there were many broken stones in front of the gate.

"How could this happen? I just instructed people to renovate the villa this morning!" The old butler looked incredulous, quickly stepped forward, and squatted down at the gate to inspect the rubble.

After inspecting it, he stood up and said in astonishment, "This is new cement, it wasn't even completely dry yet, how did it break again... Was it struck by lightning?"

"Could it be that the villa was struck by lightning again during that thunderstorm this morning?" Dongfang Jiye said, frowning.

"No." Zhuo Yang denied it outright, because that thunderstorm was a pill tribulation, and lightning wouldn't happen elsewhere.

Remembering what Zhuo Yang had just said, Dongfang Jiye said nervously, "Mr. Zhuo, you said those two security guards were haunted by ghostly energy. Could it be... that there's a ghost in this villa?"

A chill seemed to blow through the air, and all eight people, including Dongfang Ke'er, shivered.

Zhuo Yang looked at the broken part of the villa's roof and said calmly, "It's not that there are ghosts in the villa, but..."

Pointing his finger at the ground, he exclaimed, "There's a ghost down there!"

They held their breath, huddled closer together, and nervously watched the ground where Zhuo Yang was pointing.

"Wait for me to invite you out?" Zhuo Yang sneered, then lightly stomped his foot on the ground.

A flash of lightning, followed by a cracking sound, caused the concrete ground within a two-meter radius to crack instantly.

Before anyone could figure out what was happening, a piercing shriek came from all directions simultaneously...

"Oh no, what's going on? What's making that noise?"

Security guard Liu Quan covered his ears and shouted.

Everyone else, except for Dongfang Ke'er, covered their ears, their faces filled with terror.

"Master, what's going on? I heard screams too!" Dongfang Ke'er said with a cold face, circulating her true energy, and seven-colored mist appeared in her palm.

She had only just completed the Foundation Establishment stage, and her true essence was still unstable. Zhuo Yang pressed down on her shoulder and whispered, "Just watch carefully. Combat is an essential skill for cultivators. You need to learn more!"

"Yes!" Dongfang Ke'er nodded vigorously, returned to her father's side, and became cautiously wary.

"enough!"

The screams still echoed around when Zhuo Yang shouted, as if a thunderclap had exploded.

Silence fell instantly, as if nothing had happened.

With his demonic eyes activated, Zhuo Yang swept his gaze across the crowd and sneered, "Still refusing to come out? Do you really think I can't find you?"

"Quack quack..."

A piercing sound came, like an ancient wooden door opening, or like something terrifying laughing.

Zhuo Yang looked up abruptly and saw a bright red shadow appear at the spot on the highest point of the villa that had been struck by lightning.

Long hair flowing, clothes fluttering even without wind...

"You! Deserve! Death!"

Three hoarse voices squeezed out from between teeth came out, and long hair suddenly flew up, revealing a pale face and a pair of bloodshot eyes.
