Chapter 19 Divine soldiers descend from heaven

Chapter Nineteen: Divine Soldiers Descend from Heaven

"Meng Xiaojun, what brings you here, you unlucky kid?"

Zhuo Yang shouted from the sand dune.

Beneath the sand dunes, tense and terrified, Meng Xiaojun finally mustered all his courage to fight the mummies, but damn it, the mummies wouldn't die, and they seemed to multiply the more he fought them...

Just when they were about to despair, a companion finally arrived. The two fought side by side and barely managed to hold on, but they were still surrounded by the mummies.

Just when all hope seemed lost, reinforcements finally arrived.

But... who the hell is the unlucky kid?

Meng Xiaojun was furious. He looked up at the sand dune and saw Zhuo Yang leap down, leaving no trace on the sand like a great hero, with an impressive aura.

"Uncle with herniated disc, it's you!" he exclaimed excitedly.

A rare expert in the expedition team has arrived! We're saved!

Zhuo Yang's lips twitched slightly. He landed, kicked two dried corpses away, and rushed into the battle, shouting, "There's a whole bunch of dried corpses behind us! Break through!"

"There's more?" Meng Xiaojun was about to cry when he looked up and saw dozens of mummified corpses rolling down the towering sand dunes like a mudslide.

"My God, this is going to kill me!"

The other person was Teacher Cui's disciple. His face turned pale. When he saw Zhuo Yang fight his way out, he quickly grabbed Meng Xiaojun and rushed out of the battle.

"Those mummies can't be killed. Keep running, don't stop, go find your companions!"

Zhuo Yang shouted, then turned around and charged back into the midst of the horde of dried corpses.

"Uncle!"

Meng Xiaojun was shocked. He never expected that the uncle with the herniated disc would be so reliable, actually using himself to help his companion block the mummified corpse!

I misunderstood him before. He is not only highly accomplished, but also of noble character!

"Let's go help the old man!" he shouted excitedly.

His companion pulled him away, shouting with a pained expression, "If we don't leave now, all his hard work will have been in vain! Let's go!"

Both of them wore stiff expressions, but were extremely grateful to Zhuo Yang in their hearts...

Meng Xiaojun and his companion ran quickly, the tears on their faces dried by the wind, and the dust left grayish-yellow marks on their faces.

"Don't look back, run!"

Meng Xiaojun fell down; after all, he had been fighting for a long time. Two months of cultivation had filled his body with vital energy, but he had not yet truly completed the Foundation Establishment stage. Now, facing the threat of death, he could not exert much of his strength.

His companion pulled him up and shouted again, "We can't let Zhuo Yang down! He's the one who blocked the mummies for us! Run!"

Meng Xiaojun wiped away his tears and ran as fast as he could.

Fortunately, the mummies were not fast and had difficulty catching up with the two, but sand springs kept gushing out nearby, and one mummies after another crawled out of the sand.

In the vast desert, a black "flow" remains, constantly surging forward.

After running for an unknown amount of time, just when Meng Xiaojun felt he was about to die, his companion suddenly said, panting heavily, "Let's take a break, there are no more mummies in the sand!"

Without a second thought, Meng Xiaojun lay down on the sand.

After catching his breath, his companion struggled to climb a sand dune and then shouted to Meng Xiaojun, "Get up quickly! Teacher Cui is over there; quite a few people have already gathered!"

Meng Xiaojun jumped up with a start, ignoring his exhaustion, and chased after his companion.

Just as he rounded the sand dunes, the scene before him nearly made him kneel down.

"Mom, how many mummies are there?"

The sight before them was astonishing: countless mummies, like a black tide, were climbing a sand dune. At the top of the dune, seven or eight people formed a circle, driving the mummies that were surging up the dune back down.

The horde of mummies seemed endless; even when tripped by their companions rolling down the dunes, they would resolutely get up and continue climbing.

Meng Xiaojun looked at his companion speechlessly: "You meant for us to rescue Teacher Cui?"

My comrade said righteously, "It's not our style to stand by and watch someone die. It's time to fight to the death! Charge!"

He brandished his military shovel and charged straight at the group of mummies.

"Hey, at least have some tactics, okay?" Meng Xiaojun was truly speechless; he'd never seen such a clueless guy before...

And you even dragged me into this!

The group of mummies was alerted, and dozens of them swarmed over.

Meng Xiaojun was helpless, but he couldn't just run back. He had no choice but to grab his dagger and grit his teeth as he followed his companions, hoping to break through the horde of mummies and reunite with Teacher Cui.

At the top of the dune, seven or eight people saw the reinforcements arrive, shouted in unison, and then actually rushed down the dune.

Cui Yi took the lead, wielding a rusty spear as a club, and with each swing, he could sweep away several mummies.

Led by him, seven or eight people actually broke through the group of mummies and joined Meng Xiaojun and his companion.

"Don't stop, fight your way out!"

Cui Yi pulled up Meng Xiaojun, who was so exhausted he was almost collapsing, found a direction, and continued rushing forward.

He knew very well that being surrounded by these unkillable mummies would mean being torn apart after exhaustion, so he decided to break through while everyone still had the strength and saw the "reinforcements" boosting their morale.

Meng Xiaojun's companion, while helping him block the mummified corpses, was stabbed in the thigh by one of them with a spear, the spear piercing right through.

Two people rushed up to help their companion up and continued their breakout attempt.

The group seemed to sense a glimmer of hope, and with all their might, they finally broke through the encirclement and ran wildly through the open area between the sand dunes.

Before they could even catch their breath, a dark mass of desiccated corpses appeared ahead. It was the same horde of corpses that had followed Meng Xiaojun and his group.

Meng Xiaojun was so exhausted he almost fainted, and his companion was injured. Before either of them could warn anyone, the group ran headlong into a horde of zombies.

"Fuck!"

His resolute face was extremely serious. Cui Yi took a deep breath and roared, "Continue the breakout! We absolutely cannot stop!"

The treasure-hunting team members all wore bitter expressions, understanding their captain's meaning: if they couldn't break through, they would die!

The injured companion suddenly chuckled and said, "Teacher Cui, I'll stay here, you guys run up the sand dunes!"

"Damn it, I won't abandon my students. You guys run up the mountain, I'll buy you some time!" Cui Yi laughed heartily twice, flicking his spear with an air of dominance.

Everyone was moved, filled with boundless pride, and each said they would live and die with Cui Yi.

At this moment, the groups of mummies on both sides had already surrounded them. Although they were not fast runners, they were quick to attack and would soon completely encircle the expedition team.

"Go! That's an order!"

Cui Yi roared and threw Meng Xiaojun toward the sand dune, "Take the wounded with you, don't abandon a single one!"

"..."

The crowd remained indifferent, unwilling to leave just like that.

At that moment, a long howl rang out.

"Climb up!"

With a long howl, a figure leaped down from the top of the sand dune, a breathtaking sight like a divine warrior descending from the heavens. In mid-air, he swung several spears, pinning the mummies near the expedition team to the ground.

"Wow... Zhuo Yang, you broke through!"

The injured companion shouted excitedly.

"Come on!"

With reinforcements arriving, Cui Yi helped everyone climb the sand dune by pulling and dragging them.

Zhuo Yang moved through the horde of corpses like a tiger among sheep, wielding a ring-pommel sword in one hand, beheading one after another, and a long spear in the other, sweeping away the dried corpses one after another...
