Chapter 183: Purpose
"It's possible, but it's not something that's easy to say out loud. It's best if everyone just keeps it to themselves." The little girl nodded.
"Okay, let's go eat."
"Okay, let's go to someone else's place and gather some intelligence while we're at it." The girl took Chen Feng's hand, and the two of them swung their arms as they walked toward someone else's inn.
It was getting late, and the street vendors kept calling out their wares as the crowds surged and flowed. Shopkeepers were all hanging up lanterns.
It illuminated the entire street.
"Big brother, have you decided where to eat?" the little girl asked.
Chen Feng thought for a moment, could this little girl be trying to spy on military intelligence, and already has a place in mind that she wants to go? Let's test her.
Chen Feng deliberately shook his head. "No, I'm not quite sure where to go yet. Do you have any good restaurants to recommend?" Chen Feng looked at the girl, anticipating her answer. I bet this little girl definitely has ideas.
The little girl nodded happily, "Yes, I have a favorite restaurant, it's really good, shall I take you there?"
"Alright, you lead the way." Chen Feng chuckled to himself. Sure enough, this little girl had something up her sleeve.
The little girl started running, with Chen Feng close behind. Every now and then, the little girl would look back at Chen Feng, "Big brother, hurry up, we're almost there, hurry up..."
Chen Feng was speechless. Why was she so excited about gathering military intelligence? "Little girl, slow down. We have plenty of time."
Finally, in front of an inn, the little girl stopped, pointed, and said, "That's it. The food here is both delicious and affordable."
Chen Feng led the little girl inside. The first floor was full, and Chen Feng nodded, thinking it looked quite nice.
"Hey, gentlemen, what would you like to order?" the waiter greeted them.
"Are there any seats?" Chen Feng asked.
"Yes, gentlemen, please come upstairs." With that, the waiter led the way, with Chen Feng and the young girl following behind.
In a corner on the second floor, the waiter guided the two to sit down and carefully wiped the table with a cloth. "Would you two like to order something?"
Chen Feng glanced at the young woman, indicating that she should order. The young woman didn't stand on ceremony and said directly, "Just bring me those few of your specialty dishes."
"Alright, gentlemen, please wait a moment." After saying that, the waiter went downstairs. As he left, he glanced back at the girl and thought to himself, "This girl looks familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen her before."
The little girl looked around; the place was clean and the staff were friendly.
Chen Feng watched as the little girl looked around erratically and roughly guessed what she was thinking.
"Your food is here, gentlemen, everything is ready." The waiter carried a large wooden platter with several dishes on it.
Chen Feng and the young girl sat down to the side to make room, and the waiter set out the dishes. "Gentlemen, please enjoy your meal. If you need anything, please let me know."
“Okay, go ahead,” Chen Feng replied.
The little girl was very happy. She poured herself a cup of tea, held the cup up, and said, "Big brother, thank you for your help and for inviting me to dinner. I'll offer you this tea instead of wine."
"Okay." Chen Feng also picked up his glass, and the two glasses clinked together before they drank it all in one gulp.
The little girl tasted the dish. Hmm, it tasted just like before, not bad. "Big brother, you should try it."
"Okay." Chen Feng also tasted the dish, and it did taste quite good.
The two drank and chatted for a while. When they finished eating, Chen Feng went to pay the bill, which was indeed very reasonable. The young woman then led Chen Feng back to her family's inn. Along the way, the young woman seemed preoccupied, and Chen Feng guessed what she was thinking, so he didn't disturb her.
The next morning, after the girl finished eating, she went straight to the Martial Arts Academy, and Chen Feng followed closely behind.
"Big brother, are you going to the academy too?" the little girl asked, puzzled.
Chen Feng shook his head, not saying much, "You'll find out in a moment."
The two arrived at the Martial Arts Academy one after the other. The dean was assigning mentors to the selected students. "Young lady, you will be studying with Teacher Chen Feng from now on."
The little girl was a bit confused when she heard her mentor's name. How could an older brother be her mentor?
This was actually a deal between the dean and Chen Feng. If the girl wanted to enter the Martial Arts Academy, Chen Feng would have to become an instructor at the academy.
The young girl was confused. Chen Feng had clearly said he was leaving, so how did he become a teacher at the Martial Arts Academy? Had he always been... or was he at that time...?
The young girl recalled yesterday's martial arts competition. The dean initially refused to let her pass, but after Chen Feng spoke a few words to him, the dean immediately changed his mind. Either Chen Feng and the dean already knew each other, and he had always been a teacher here, and the dean let her pass out of respect for Chen Feng, or Chen Feng and the dean made some kind of deal during their conversation yesterday. It's very possible the dean wanted to recruit Chen Feng as a teacher in his academy and was using her as leverage. But that didn't make sense. If that were the case, why would he sacrifice so much for her? Didn't he have his own things to do? Could it be that he couldn't bear to part with her…? Thinking this, the young girl's face instantly turned bright red. That woman had said he was an old cow eating young grass… could it really be true?! The young girl looked at Chen Feng; the dean was explaining things to him.
After assigning the students, the dean put his hand on Chen Feng's shoulder and said, "You will be in charge of these 29 students. You can use the rooms and yard over there. Today is their first day of school, so you can just teach them a few things. As for the specific teaching process, they will tell you when you meet with the other instructors later."
"Alright, I'll take them there first." Chen Feng looked at the 29 students and led them to the courtyard next door. Theoretical classes would be taught inside the building, while practical classes would be taught in the courtyard. Chen Feng planned to teach them practical combat first, and then talk about internal energy cultivation later.
Chen Feng led the group to the courtyard. "Everyone, line up in five rows and six columns. The younger ones are in front, and the older ones are in the back. Keep a one-meter distance between each other."
All 29 students found a place to stand. Chen Feng looked around and noticed a few weren't standing properly, so he rearranged them. The little girl was quite tall and stood a bit further back. Chen Feng glanced at her and noticed she kept glancing at him, and her cheeks were flushed. Could this little girl be angry with me for not telling him? Chen Feng looked at the girl again. Wait a minute, that doesn't seem right. Why would her face be red if she was angry? Was she just radiating energy? Chen Feng shook his head. Women's hearts are like the bottom of the sea; he couldn't understand them.
"Okay, today is everyone's first day of school, and it's also my first day as a teacher. I'll give you a brief lesson first. Please don't introduce yourselves yet, because I can't remember them all, there are too many of you. Just remember that my name is Chen Feng, and I am your teacher. From today onwards, I will be teaching you."
