Chapter 251 Don't Talk Nonsense
Chapter 251 Don't Talk Nonsense
"Let bygones be bygones," Yu Yuetong said with a smile. "Right now, all I want is to live a good life with Qin Reng."
"Really?" Qin Yu suddenly leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "You've really forgotten what happened that night?"
Before Yu Yuetong could react, Qin Reng pulled her behind him and stared coldly at Qin Yu: "You'd better stay away from my wife."
"Heh." Qin Yu chuckled dismissively. "I just wanted to remind Yue Tong that some things can't be solved by running away."
Ji Momo watched with great interest from the side, and suddenly spoke up: "President Qin, how about we dance?"
"I'm sorry," Qin Reng refused directly, "I only dance with my wife."
As an elegant waltz began, Qin Reng led Yu Yuetong by the hand to the center of the dance floor. His hand rested on her waist, and he twirled her around.
"Ignore them," Qin Reng whispered in her ear. "I won't let anyone hurt you."
Yu Yuetong looked up at him and noticed his unusually serious gaze. She suddenly realized that this man seemed to genuinely care about her. This realization made her heart race.
“I know,” she answered softly.
As the music played, the two twirled together, as if the whole world had shrunk to just the two of them. However, Yu Yuetong could feel Qin Yu and Ji Momo's gazes following them.
Suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over her. Yu Yuetong staggered and almost fell.
"What's wrong?" Qin Reng immediately helped her up.
"It's nothing, I'm probably just a little tired," Yu Yuetong forced a smile.
Qin Reng frowned, about to say something, when he suddenly noticed Yu Yuetong's pale face: "Your lip color..."
Yu Yuetong felt increasingly short of breath, and her vision began to blur. She vaguely heard Qin Reng's anxious voice: "Someone! Quickly call a doctor!"
In the last moment before losing consciousness, she saw a smug smile on Qin Yu's lips.
When Yu Yuetong opened her eyes again, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. The pungent smell of disinfectant made her frown.
"Awake?" Qin Reng's voice came from the side, tinged with weariness.
She turned her head and saw him sitting on the edge of the bed, with obvious dark circles under his eyes, his suit jacket casually draped over the back of the chair, and his tie loose.
"What's wrong with me?" Yu Yuetong tried to sit up, but he pressed her shoulder down.
"Don't move." Qin Reng's voice was a little hoarse. "The doctor said you've been poisoned."
"Poisoned?" Yu Yuetong's eyes widened. "How could this be..."
“It was Qin Yu.” Qin Reng’s eyes turned cold. “He drugged your drink.”
Yu Yuetong shuddered as she recalled Qin Yu's meaningful smile at the banquet.
"Why did he do this?"
“Because he wanted you dead.” Qin Reng clenched his fist. “He thought that as long as you were gone, he could regain the right to inherit the Qin family.”
Yu Yuetong was silent for a moment, then suddenly asked, "So now we..."
"Your body has been switched back," Qin Reng interrupted her, "right when you were unconscious."
Yu Yuetong looked down at her hands; they were indeed her own. She breathed a sigh of relief, but also felt a little disappointed.
"So, our agreement..."
"It's void." Qin Reng stood up, looking down at her. "You can leave now."
Yu Yuetong was stunned. She hadn't expected Qin Reng to let her go so readily.
"you……"
"What?" Qin Reng sneered. "Haven't you always wanted to leave? Now that your chance has come, you should be happy."
Yu Yuetong opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say. She had indeed always wanted to leave, but now, she suddenly felt a little reluctant.
"I……"
"Stop talking." Qin Reng turned and walked towards the door. "I've already had the lawyer prepare the divorce agreement. Just sign it when you're discharged from the hospital."
Watching his retreating figure, Yu Yuetong suddenly felt a void in her heart. She recalled everything that had happened during this time, everything he had done to protect her, and the tender look in his eyes on the dance floor…
"Qin Reng!" she suddenly called out to him.
Qin Reng stopped, but did not turn around.
“I…” Yu Yuetong bit her lip, “I don’t want a divorce.”
Qin Reng's back visibly stiffened for a moment.
"What did you say?"
“I said, I don’t want a divorce,” Yu Yuetong said, mustering her courage. “I want…I want to be with you.”
Qin Reng slowly turned around, looking at her with a complicated expression: "Do you know what you're saying?"
“I know.” Yu Yuetong nodded. “I like you, Qin Reng. Not because of the agreement, not because of the body swap, but because…”
Before she could finish speaking, Qin Reng strode back and pulled her into his arms.
"You idiot." His voice choked with emotion. "Do you know how long I've waited to hear these words?"
Yu Yuetong leaned against him, smelling his familiar scent, and suddenly felt incredibly at ease.
"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting for so long."
Qin Reng released her, cupped her face in his hands, and said earnestly, "Yu Yuetong, listen carefully. From now on, you are my wife, Qin Reng's wife, and no one can take you away from me."
Yu Yuetong nodded, tears streaming down her face involuntarily.
Just then, the door to the ward was suddenly pushed open.
"Mr. Qin, something terrible has happened!" The assistant rushed in, flustered. "Qin Yu, he..."
Qin Reng frowned: "What's wrong with him?"
"He kidnapped the old lady!"
Yu Yuetong suddenly sat up, but Qin Reng pressed her down.
"Don't move," he said in a deep voice. "You can't be discharged from the hospital yet."
“But Grandma…” Yu Yuetong was so anxious that tears were about to fall.
Qin Reng's face was terribly grim: "What exactly is Qin Yu, that madman, trying to do?"
“He must know about us,” Yu Yuetong bit her lip. “He’s trying to use Grandma to threaten you.”
Qin Reng stood up, picked up his coat, and said, "You rest here, I'll take care of it."
"I want to go too!" Yu Yuetong struggled to get out of bed.
"No." Qin Reng pressed down on her shoulders. "You're still very weak."
"But……"
"Listen to me." Qin Reng's voice suddenly softened. "I promise you, I will bring Grandma back safely."
Yu Yuetong looked into his eyes and suddenly said, "Qin Reng, do you remember the first time we met?"
Qin Reng was stunned for a moment.
“You were like that back then too, pretending to be cold even though you were really worried.” Yu Yuetong laughed. “Actually, you’ve always been a gentle person, you just didn’t want others to know.”
Qin Reng's ear tips turned slightly red: "Don't talk nonsense."
“I’m not lying,” Yu Yuetong said seriously. “So this time, let me go with you. I don’t want to see you bear everything alone anymore.”
Qin Reng was silent for a while, then finally sighed: "Alright, but you have to promise me that you will follow my orders."
“Yes!” Yu Yuetong nodded emphatically.
