Chapter 241 - 238: Do You Believe Her Words?

"What does your fight have to do with whether or not you’re returning to the film set?" Sarah Shelby asked, looking curious.

Clara Grant was puzzled. Surprisingly, Sarah’s focus wasn’t on why she and Seth Quinn had argued.

Just then, Sarah gasped and asked nervously, "Don’t tell me he put you under house arrest?"

Clara Grant thought for a moment, then nodded. "Well, something like that."

"Then how did you get out?"

Clara tilted her head and looked at her. "Aren’t you curious why we fought?"

"...Fine, why did you two fight?" She admitted her focus had gone off-track. She had figured that even if they fought, it would just be a minor squabble between a couple. ’It couldn’t escalate to anything serious, could it?’

After all, the two of them were doing so well just yesterday.

Before Clara could answer, Sarah’s eyes glinted mischievously. She leaned in with a sly grin. "It’s not because... he can’t satisfy you in bed, is it? Or maybe he’s *too* much for you to handle, and that’s why you fought?"

"Sarah Shelby, can you be serious for a second!" Clara had been in a terrible mood, but Sarah’s meddling left her so flustered she was more embarrassed than upset. Her spirits had actually lifted a bit.

"Alright, alright. The fact that you can still get mad at me proves it’s nothing too serious." Sarah sighed in relief and adopted a more serious expression. "So, tell me. What happened between you two?"

Clara let out a breath. "He found out that I used to have a crush on Miles Quinn."

"What?" Sarah was stunned. ’No wonder they fought.’ "But... how would Seth Quinn find out?"

"He probably found out over a month ago. He just never let on. It must have been Chloe Grant who told him."

"Chloe Grant again? Why is she involved in everything?" The mention of Chloe’s name made Sarah indignant. That woman was really taking things too far!

It was bad enough when she was always scheming in the background to stop Clara from getting into showbiz. But now that she can’t block her career, is she trying to ruin her love life, too?

Clara pursed her lips, then looked at Sarah. "Sarah, do you have any alcohol here? I need a drink."

Sarah knew she was upset, and she also knew Clara could handle a small glass without any trouble. She stood up readily. "Hang on, I’ll go get it."

She was quick. A moment later, she returned with a bottle of red wine in one hand and two glasses in the other.

"It’s already been aerated," Sarah said as she sat back down, pouring a glass for both herself and Clara. "But we have a deal. You can only have one glass. No getting drunk."

"I know." Clara watched her slowly pour the red liquid into the wine glass before reaching out to take it. "I have to be back on set to film tomorrow. I know my limits."

With that, she brought the glass to her lips and took a sip.

Sarah also raised her glass, swirled the contents, and took a sip.

Clara slowly swirled her glass, watching the red wine coat the sides before slowly trickling back down.

Her lips parted as she spoke slowly. "Sarah, did you know that Seth Quinn used to have a fiancée?"

The hand Sarah was using to hold her wine glass trembled. Her eyes, now fixed on Clara, held a flicker of nervousness. "Clara, who told you that?"

"Chloe Grant."

’Chloe Grant again!’

"What did she say?"

"She said that Seth Quinn once had a fiancée he was deeply in love with, and that his expensive apartment was bought for her. She also said that Seth was deeply in love with his fiancée... and that he’s actually never gotten over her."

"So... do you believe her?"
