The three men immediately stood perfectly straight, looking like the most disciplined soldiers at the Marine Academy.
"This is a High-Tier Dungeon," Blake said.
"Extremely dangerous."
"On this planet, there is an army serving a man who calls himself the Emperor of the Universe. They are searching everywhere for something called Dragon Balls. Gather all seven, and you can summon Shenron to grant any wish."
At the words any wish, Doflamingo's breathing quickened. He quickly reined in his emotions, knowing such a wish was likely nothing worth mentioning in front of the Shop Manager.
A glint flashed in Kaido's eyes, but his mind went elsewhere: What kind of reward would I get if I offered the Dragon Balls to the Manager?
Akainu's fists cracked as he clenched them. He had just thought of a wish that would definitely satisfy the Manager.
Blake saw right through them.
"Don't get too excited just yet. Your mission is simple: survive on this planet for three days. Or, snatch a Dragon Ball and offer it to me. Achieve either condition, and you clear the dungeon. There will be rewards."
Kaido let out a heavy snort of dissatisfaction.
"Just surviving isn't enough! I'm going to grab those Dragon Balls and offer them to you, Manager!"
Blake smiled. A very genuine, pleased smile.
"Excellent. I highly appreciate your loyalty."
Blake slowly floated into the air, looking down at the trio from above.
"Remember, I'm just here to lead the way. In this dungeon, I will absolutely not offer you any help. Even if someone rips your intestines out and uses them as a jump rope, I will only stand by and evaluate your worth."
The air grew deathly silent.
Instead of fear, a fierce fighting spirit surged within the three of them.
This was a trial given to them by the Shop Manager! They absolutely could not fail!
Just then, a piercing sonic boom echoed from the sky.
Several meteor-like streaks of light tore through the green sky. They were three spherical spaceships. Trailing long tails of fire, they crashed into a distant village.
The ground trembled. A mushroom cloud erupted into the air.
Blake pulled a bucket of popcorn out of his system space. He sat cross-legged in mid-air.
"The show is starting. Go on, it's time to prove your worth. Don't disappoint me."
Kaido gritted his teeth. "Yes, Manager!"
.....
Blake sat suspended in the air. Grabbing a handful of popcorn, he stuffed it into his mouth and chewed with a loud crunch.
He looked down at the three apex combatants of the pirate world. Usually, these three were absolute overlords in their respective territories. Now, thrown together, they couldn't stand the sight of one another. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder.
This was exactly the effect Blake wanted. Competition bred motivation. He was eager to see just how much chaos these three could cause on Namek.
Kaido shifted the massive Hassaikai onto his other shoulder. The Governor-General of the Beasts Pirates, a man with a staggering bounty of 4,611,100,000 Beri, was entirely consumed by thoughts of how to show off in front of Blake.
He glanced sideways at Akainu and Doflamingo, blowing a harsh breath from his nostrils.
"I'm going on ahead. The Dragon Balls are mine. You two trash can stay back and eat my dust."
Kaido had no intention of discussing tactics. In his eyes, absolute power was the best tactic.
He bent his knees slightly, the granite-like muscles in his thighs bulging. With a violent kick, the blue soil beneath his feet collapsed into a crater tens of meters wide, sending dirt and shattered rock flying.
Like a black cannonball fired from its barrel, Kaido tore through the air with a deafening sonic boom, heading straight toward the mushroom cloud rising in the distance.
Akainu watched Kaido disappear into the horizon. His perpetually stern face showed no emotion, save for a blast of scorching air escaping his nose.
"Brainless brute. Just charging in blindly like a wild beast."
The Marine Admiral believed in Absolute Justice. He turned his head and looked in a different direction.
Over there, several plumes of thick black smoke were slowly rising. A faint smell of burning drifted through the air—the unmistakable scent of a village being slaughtered and torched.
Akainu's right arm began to transform. His skin rapidly turned a dark, ashen red. Boiling magma seeped from his pores, dripping down his arm and sizzling loudly as it hit the blue turf. The intense heat warped the air around him.
He pulled down the brim of his Marine cap.
"No matter what world this is, the evil scum who slaughter civilians must be completely eradicated."
He took a large stride toward the rising smoke. With every step, the ground beneath his feet scorched into black, glass-like slag. In the name of justice, he would burn those violent thugs to ashes.
And while he was at it, he would take the Dragon Balls and offer them to the unfathomable Shop Manager.
Doflamingo stood perfectly still. He watched Kaido and Akainu depart in separate directions, the corners of his mouth stretching into an exaggerated grin as he let out his signature laugh.
"Fuffuffuffu... How amusing. A wild beast who only knows brute force, and a mad dog obsessed with justice. In an unknown world, information is the key to life and death."
The former Warlord of the Sea and King of Dressrosa possessed a mind sharper and more calculating than anyone else's. He pushed up his red sunglasses, raised his right hand, and pressed his index and middle fingers together.
Several nearly invisible, transparent strings shot from his fingertips, soaring high into the green clouds of Namek.
With a slight curl of his fingers, his body lost gravity, floating effortlessly into the sky. Standing on his invisible strings, he looked down upon this strange land. He intended to stand at the highest point, get a clear view of the battlefield, and then pick the softest target to crush.
Doflamingo tapped the Scouter worn over his left eye. This was a handy little gadget—it could instantly read an opponent's baseline power. With this, he could avoid the untouchable monsters and prey exclusively on the weak.
.....
Meanwhile, Kaido was hurtling through the sky. The fierce wind scraped against his cheeks. The air on Namek was indeed a bit thin, but for a physical freak like him, it wasn't a burden in the slightest. In fact, he felt the environment was perfect for a warm-up.
He reached up a thick finger and pressed the button on his Scouter.
Beep-beep. Strings of red numbers immediately jumped across the lens. Kaido narrowed his eyes, staring at the fluctuating values.
A dozen kilometers straight ahead, a dense cluster of signal sources appeared. The numbers hovered around a thousand, with the highest barely breaking fifteen hundred.
Kaido remembered testing Akainu's power level back at the tavern. That magma-spewing bastard had a reading over seventeen thousand.
"A thousand-something? Not even a fraction of Sakazuki's power. What a bunch of trash."
He parted his jaws, revealing a row of sharp, pale fangs. This was the perfect opportunity to show off for the Manager. He would crush this garbage in the cleanest, most decisive way possible, and then take the Dragon Balls.
Kaido gripped the handle of the Hassaikai with both hands. The power inside him began to surge wildly. Dark red Conqueror's Haki erupted unreservedly from his body, turning into thick bolts of lightning that coiled around the spiked iron club. The raw, violent energy made the very space around him hum.
He adjusted his posture, diving headfirst toward the densest cluster of signals.
Down below, inside a Namekian village, a squad of aliens in white combat armor were wreaking havoc. They were a bizarre-looking bunch—some had crocodile-like heads, others had purple skin with twin antennae. These were the low-ranking grunts of the Frieza Force.
Armed with Energy Blasters, they were violently interrogating several green-skinned Namekians.
A purple-skinned alien wearing a Scouter stepped forward and ruthlessly kicked an elderly Namekian to the ground. The old man writhed in agony, clutching his stomach.
"Speak! Where are the Dragon Balls hidden?! Lord Frieza has no patience! If you don't hand them over, your entire village will be buried with this planet!"
The Namekian elder struggled to lift his head, shaking it desperately. "We truly don't know of any Dragon Balls. Please, I beg you, spare the children..."
The purple-skinned alien sneered. He raised his Energy Blaster, aiming the muzzle right at the old man's head. Blinding white light gathered at the tip.
"Since you don't know, then die!"
Right at that critical moment, the Scouter over the alien's left eye began to shriek in alarm.
