Reborn: I Stock Up and Bully the Trash to Dominate the Apocalypse

Chapter 1108

Chapter 1108

He was startled, his face instantly changing color. He glared at the crew member navigating the boat and shouted, "What's going on? You've got the course wrong! Get it back on track!"

However, he only got halfway through his sentence before abruptly stopping.

He suddenly realized that everyone in the cockpit, including Captain Chen, Lieutenant Yun, and the crew members who were operating the ship, had stopped what they were doing, turned around, and stared at him with a cold, piercing gaze.

There was no surprise or doubt in his gaze, only understanding and wariness, as if he had known all along that he would react this way.

Wang Qian's heart skipped a beat, and a chill ran from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. He instantly realized that he had been exposed!

Captain Chen slowly walked to the center of the cockpit, looking down at Wang Qian with deep, unfathomable eyes that conveyed no emotion, yet carried an invisible sense of oppression.

He was silent for a few seconds before slowly speaking, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable power: "Captain Wang, I've never actually asked you in detail whether there are any green plants on the island you took us to?"

Wang Qian's heart pounded, and his brain raced as he tried to find the right words to respond.

He opened his mouth, about to respond with his fabricated story, but Captain Chen didn't give him a chance to speak and continued:

"You told us that this island was once submerged by sea level, so how come there are such lush green plants growing here?"

These words were like a sharp dagger, directly exposing Wang Qian's lie.

Wang Qian's face turned deathly pale, and he subconsciously looked around.

The crew members in the cockpit had already gathered around, their eyes filled with vigilance. Some had even quietly reached for their weapons, ready to strike at any moment.

At this point, there's no point in continuing to pretend.

Instead, a cold, desperate smile appeared on Wang Qian's face.

He no longer concealed his sinister intent, his eyes turning icy as he stared at Captain Chen: "Captain Chen is indeed meticulous, discovering the flaw so quickly. That's right, that green patch isn't some island plant at all, but seaweed from the sea!"

As he spoke, he discreetly observed his surroundings, searching for an opportunity to break through.

He knew that only by coercing Captain Chen could he have a chance to change course and complete his final plan.

“The presence of seaweed means there are basic conditions for life to survive here.” Wang Qian deliberately softened his tone, trying to buy time: “Once we get there, we can use the seaweed to raise fish and gradually cultivate edible food. Don’t you think that’s a good thing, Captain?”

Just when everyone thought he was still making a final attempt to deny it, Wang Qian suddenly made a move!

His movements were as fast as lightning. He lunged at Captain Chen, who was standing at the front, and pointed his hands at Captain Chen's neck, trying to take him hostage.

However, Captain Chen was prepared.

The moment Wang Qian lunged forward, he suddenly took a step back and raised his hand to block.

Deputy Adjutant Yun and several naval soldiers nearby reacted immediately and rushed forward to surround Wang Qian.

Although Wang Qian was skilled, he couldn't overcome the enemy's superior numbers and the fact that they were all well-trained naval soldiers.

After a few rounds, he gradually fell into a disadvantageous position and was soon kicked in the knee by a soldier, causing him to kneel on one knee.

Immediately afterwards, the other soldiers rushed forward, twisted his arms behind his back, and pressed them firmly onto the cold deck.

"Let me go! You fools!" Wang Qian struggled desperately, roaring, "What do you know! The sea boil is about to spread here, only I know the real way out! If you kill me, everyone will die!"

As he struggled, he shouted loudly towards the outside of the cockpit, "Move! Move! Move now..."

He pinned his hopes on his comrades lying in ambush throughout the mothership. If they heard the signal, they would launch an attack immediately, and perhaps there would still be a glimmer of hope.

However, despite his repeated calls, there was only deathly silence outside, with no movement whatsoever, and even the faint cheers of the survivors on deck could still be heard.

Wang Qian's heart sank. He turned to look at Li Chenfeng beside him, only to find that Li Chenfeng had already fallen silently.

Only then did Wang Qian fully realize that not only him, but all his accomplices had probably been taken into custody by Captain Chen's men.

A chill of despair swept over him, but he quickly calmed down, a glint of madness flashing in his eyes.

It's okay, even if his accomplices are all under control, he still has one last trump card!

If he can press that button, everyone will have to go to hell with him!

"Oh no, it looks like he's strapped to something!" A soldier holding Wang Qian suddenly noticed that there seemed to be a hard, irregularly shaped protrusion under Wang Qian's clothes, like some kind of device.

Another soldier's face changed drastically in an instant, and he shouted in a hoarse voice, "It's a bomb! It's a time bomb! Stop him..."

A resolute smile curled at the corner of Wang Qian's lips. He abruptly raised his right hand, which was being held down, and pressed the detonation button hidden in his pocket...

At this critical moment, Wang Qian's expression changed.

Where his fingertips touched, there was nothing at all!

The metal button that was originally hidden in my pocket and close to my palm has disappeared.

It felt as if an invisible hand had forcefully pulled it out of his pocket; he could even feel the forceful way it had been peeled from his palm.

"What's going on..." Wang Qian's pupils shrank, his face instantly turning deathly pale. He frantically rummaged in his pocket, repeatedly asking, "Where's my button? Where did my button go?!"

His panic lasted less than two seconds before a sharp pain suddenly shot through his cheek!

With a muffled thud, a heavy punch slammed into his left cheek, the force of which sent him spinning halfway around.

Several bloody teeth mixed with saliva splattered from the corner of his mouth.

Wang Qian saw stars and his head was buzzing. Before he could even stand up straight, he was hit by several heavy elbows in the back. The excruciating pain spread throughout his body along his spine, making him groan involuntarily.

His vision went black, and his body fell forward uncontrollably. He instinctively braced himself with his hands on the ground, but was firmly held down by two naval soldiers who had been lying in ambush to his side.

"Let me go!" Wang Qian struggled frantically, his wrists twisted behind his back by soldiers, the bones almost broken. "I'll kill you all to pay for Ziling's death! Let me go!"

He frantically searched the ground, but no matter how hard he looked, the button that could detonate the bomb was nowhere to be found.

He was unwilling to accept this, roaring and struggling to break free of his restraints, but the soldiers were incredibly strong, pinning him to the ground and rendering him unable to move. The excruciating pain in his shoulder blades almost made him faint.
