Chapter 1252 The Truth Revealed
Chapter 1252 The Truth Revealed
Hu Jian looked around in confusion; everything was white. He had a headache and felt a little dizzy.
He looked around, then turned and saw Zhang Xiufang lying on the small bed next to him, and gradually came to his senses. Memories of the time before he fainted slowly surfaced, and his eyes reddened.
He knew his parents were being unreasonable, but he never expected them to actually hit him. After being hit on the head, he could clearly feel the blood rapidly draining from his brain; he was about to die.
I never expected him to wake up, and that there were people who cared about him and looked after him.
Zhang Xiufang seemed to sense unease and quickly opened her eyes. Then she saw Hu Jian looking at her. Zhang Xiufang was pleasantly surprised, "Hu Jian, you're awake?"
Hu Jian's voice was hoarse, "Xiu...Fang, thank you for your hard work!"
Zhang Xiufang shook her head and held Hu Jian's hand. "It's not hard, don't think so much. You still have me, Xiao Li, Chongyang, and our child."
Hu Jian, deeply hurt by his parents, was filled with sorrow. But when he suddenly heard Zhang Xiufang say "our child," he paused, looked at Zhang Xiufang's stomach, and asked, "You...you're pregnant?"
Zhang Xiufang nodded, "Yes, I didn't lie to you. Don't get agitated, stay calm. You'll be fine. Grandpa Wang said he'll take care of your health in the future."
Hu Jian took a few deep breaths to relieve the dizziness, "Good, good, that's great."
Liu Meilan came in carrying some things and was happy to see that Hu Jian was awake. "Hu Jian, you're awake! That's good. Did you call the doctor?"
Zhang Xiufang slapped her forehead in a panic, "Hu Jian just woke up, and I was so excited that I forgot to call the doctor. Wait a moment, I'll go get him."
Liu Meilan chuckled, "Sister Xiufang, don't go, I'll go. I'll spend more time with Hu Jian."
Once outside, Liu Meilan called the doctor over.
After examining the patient, the doctor smiled and said, "The recovery is going well! After two more days of rest, you can be transferred to another hospital."
Zhang Xiufang expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, doctor. Please take care of me."
Exhausted, Hu Jian slowly fell asleep again.
Liu Meilan called Zhang Xiufang out, "Sister Xiufang, come out here, I have something to tell you!"
Zhang Xiufang looked puzzled. "Did Chongyang and Xiaoli get naughty?"
"No!" Liu Meilan shook her head. "They're all very well-behaved. Tomorrow's the weekend, Chongyang will bring Xiaoli to the hospital. I'm talking about something else concerning Fujian, take a look!"
"Meilan, what's this?" Zhang Xiufang took a brown paper bag, paused slightly, and looked puzzled. "DNA paternity test? From Fujian? He's not their biological son?"
Liu Meilan nodded, "Yes, take a closer look."
Zhang Xiufang quickly opened the kraft paper bag. She couldn't understand some of the technical terms, but she could read and understand that there was no biological mother-child relationship behind it.
"My God!" Zhang Xiufang exclaimed in shock, then quickly recovered. "Now I understand why those old folks in the Hu family are so mean and treat Hu Jian so badly. Since he's not their child, they keep tormenting and oppressing him. Meilan, why did you decide to get a paternity test?"
Liu Meilan shook her head and smiled bitterly, "I empathize with him. I thought about what happened to Fujian, so I decided to give it a try. I didn't expect that I would guess right."
Zhang Xiufang nodded, "With a paternity test, everything makes sense. I also have a son, and I completely cannot understand the bizarre actions of Hu Jian's parents. If Hu Jian is being tormented like this, of course they won't like Xiao Li."
"When are you going to tell Hu Jian?" Liu Meilan asked.
Zhang Xiufang hesitated, only hoping that Hu Jian could recover quickly. "Anyway, we can't talk about it now. It's not too late to talk about it after he recovers."
"Okay!" Liu Meilan agreed. "Anyway, I've given you the information, so you can handle it as you see fit. A couple of days ago, I overheard Hu's mother planning to divide the assets under Hu Jian's name! You should know what's going on and not suffer any losses."
"Huh?" Zhang Xiufang couldn't believe it. "Hu Jian is still alive. They...they...never mind, he's not their biological son, so things will only get worse."
The root of everything has been found, and Zhang Xiufang accepts it calmly, no longer angry at all. On the contrary, it is Hu Jian's biological parents, Hu's father and mother, that makes Zhang Xiufang and Hu Jian feel uncomfortable, and they can never let go of it psychologically.
Not for any other reason than the pain of childbirth and that blood relation.
When Hu's mother learned that her son had woken up, she quickly called Hu's aunt, "Sister, Hu Jian has woken up. Luckily you reminded me, otherwise, if I had brought a lawyer over, things would have been very difficult."
Aunt Hu sighed when she heard her sister's foolish words, "Anyway, I've said everything I needed to say. You can decide for yourself."
After saying that, Aunt Hu hung up the phone.
She used to think that because she was related to Hu Jian by blood, she could rightfully control him. But now, she has no choice; she has no face left.
Seeing that she could not get help from her sister, Hu's mother sighed and hurried to the detention center to see her husband.
When Hu's father heard that Hu Jian had woken up, he breathed a sigh of relief. "Then I won't have to go to jail, that's good! You hurry up and go to the hospital. Whether you cry, make a scene, or threaten suicide, or even kneel down, just beg Hu Jian and his wife to drop the charges."
"But what if they don't agree to withdraw the lawsuit?" Thinking of Zhang Xiufang's fierce appearance, Hu's mother didn't dare to provoke her at all.
Mr. Hu thought for a moment, then said, "Then go to the newspaper and tell them he's unfilial and that he framed me. You can also fake a suicide threat. Make a scene at his workplace; it'll do you some good!"
Hu's mother hesitated, "What if we go too far and they suspect we're not Hu Jian's biological parents?"
Mr. Hu was taken aback. “Then we should make a scene even more. Otherwise, we won’t get anything! In any case, we should use filial piety to heal his wounds and get me released.”
Mrs. Hu nodded, "Okay, I'll go now."
Hu's mother felt guilty, subconsciously believing that Hu Jian would find out he wasn't her biological son and then abandon them. Now, while Hu Jian was still unaware, she wanted to get as much benefit as possible. She not only wanted money, but also wanted her husband released from detention.
Hu's mother bought some fruit and went to the hospital.
Standing at the door, Hu's mother felt guilty, so she called her eldest sister, but her aunt didn't answer. Her younger sister and parents were greedy, confused, and foolish; she wasn't like that.
Although my sister is important, she's not as important as my son and daughter. My son came home from work and I warned him not to get involved in my aunt's family affairs, because his boss had already warned him.
Mrs. Hu sighed and entered the hospital dejectedly.
Hu Jian's lips were chapped, and Zhang Xiufang was gently and carefully moistening them with a cotton swab.
After waking up from a nap, Hu Jian was still in a bit of pain, but he felt much better than before. "Xiufang, don't stand up, sit down and rest."
Zhang Xiufang wiped Hu Jian's face, saying, "As long as you wake up, I'm not tired at all."
Hu Jian felt terrible. "I married you because I wanted to be your wife, but I almost died and dragged you down with me. Now you're pregnant and you still have to take care of me. You've suffered with me."
He failed to make Zhang Xiufang happy; he broke his promise.
